I was reading a piece recently about the storm clouds that are building over the 2026 World Cup. Firstly, it’s being co-hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico. That may have seemed like good idea at the time but it doesn’t look so smart now that Trump has fallen out with both of them. Worse, immigration into the US is one of the things they’ve fallen out about, which doesn’t bode well if thousands of foreign fans unfamiliar with ferocious US immigration rules and staff are trying to cross the borders merely to watch there teams play. The article predicted that some fans might need to pass through US immigration 4 times in an about a week in the first games after the group stages. Secondly, a number of teams may well qualify from countries whose citizens are completely persona non grata in the US. Iran has already qualified and it could be their team are refused entry, never mind their supporters. Watch this space……
Ferocious US immigration laws......A Hong Kong born (UK now) friend of a ours came up against how they treat people who fall foul of their laws. She has spent years as a christian smuggling bibles etc into mainland China with an organization based in Hong Kong (this would be 2000 to 2015). During this time she teamed up with an American and they worked as a pair doing this work......they got married and were spending time in the USA between trips. She came over to the UK to visit her sisters.....when she returned to the States she couldn't get through customs....because her entry paperwork was out of date and although she was married to an American she wasn't allowed back in She was arrested and was put in chains ( wrists and ankles ) and locked up and interrogated for two days (her passport showed that she had entered China many times).....she was 5 foot nothing and less then 8 stone in weight and they treated her like a criminal...although she was married to an American. Still in chains she was returned to the Airport and sent back to the UK....her husband spent months trying to sort it out without success.....less than a year later he became ill and died.....although she was the next of kin his children from an earlier marriage took her to court in the States and won possession of their house and his finances.....and she didn't even get back her own possessions etc.....American justice in all its glory.
Well the border control at the Airports takes a while so go early , i have been multiple times as family in New York so the checks take a while.. all for the good tho, Make sure you have the ESTA also. its frustrating but it needs to be done, on entry back into uk its just scan your passport,, when it works then you join a que so just as slow as mine dodnt work this time, its the new pas ports ,,, may be .I was going to go in the summer to see some games and next year but the heat is the issue.. its not a nice heat .. even with air con.. i will give it a miss

Trump is apparently preparing a list of 40 odd countries whose citizens will not be allowed entry at all. There aren’t any big football names that I can see, although as FIFA constantly goes for more and more bloated competitions, who knows who might qualify? It does of course include Iran who have qualified I believe. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/tr...el-ban-dozens-countries-memo-says-2025-03-15/
Derby...2-0...PNE.....F/T Bad result for Argyle.....we're now 8pts adrift including goal difference. With only 21pts left to play for it's as good as over.
Plym continued his stately progress towards the Imaginary Trophy with a decent score of 12 but hero of the hour was Musty with a magnificent 17 points. Like Plym and SMH, he got 8 of the 12 results correct but his scores were closer to the real thing giving him 3 threes and a 4 from the Super Match. As previously noted, no Goal Time points were available as Argyle achieved only a nil - nil draw in a game they had the chances to win. That's the way it goes.... In the end, there was no change in the league table but the graph shows it may not be long before Musty is chasing the midfield pack. Several of you have already done your forecasts for the next round so I'll be on to that next.

Given the Trump Tariffs, I bit the bullet yesterday and ordered a new computer before prices sky-rocket. It's expected to be delivered next Tuesday and there may be some disruption to service. Therefore, here is the Match Text for the mid-week round, which kicks off at 7:45 on Tuesday.
