The response was very poor and we said this from the south stand. The steward was beckoning the paramedics and had to sprint up the stairs to which they trotted down as if to say ‘oh us?’

    was very very slow

There was a lack of urgency, none of the medics seemed to be in any hurry. The mum walked past me and she looked pretty pissed off.

Because the response was a disgrace. It was far far too slow. The Stewart's failed to indicate there was a significant issue quickly which led the paramedics to be delayed and also to arrive. Who were also very slow. Would imagine the complaint will get upheld to be honest.

I guess drunk or not we deserve at least a reasonable response if we are in trouble.

We do. No idea what the emergency was and or if the individual was intoxicated however, if someone is in need of assistance, response time needs to be swift.

Regis Le Bris praises Michael Proctor for set-piece work

REGIS LE BRIS has hailed Michael Proctor’s role in helping to devise the set-piece routine that enabled Sunderland to see off Millwall at the weekend.

The Black Cats’ first-half winner at the Stadium of Light came via a pre-planned corner routine that saw Patrick Roberts and Romaine Mundle combine to deliver a cross to the back post that was volleyed home by an unmarked Trai Hume....

“I was happy with the goal, and really pleased for the staff, especially for Proc because he has worked a lot (on set-pieces) and is doing very well in this phase of the game,” said the Sunderland head coach.

“It’s important during a game, when it’s difficult, to find a solution. If you are good on set-pieces, you can find a solution in this phase. It’s very positive for us.”

“The main purpose, as a team, was to play as a unit and build this collective energy again,” said Le Bris, whose side return to action at the Hawthorns on Saturday lunchtime when they take on a West Brom team led by former Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray. “I think it was positive for that part of the game, and we felt that we worked together.

“It was important to play again like a team and to feel that energy. I think the connection with the crowd, for example, was positive for that reason, for some good counter-pressing and some good spells with the ball as well.

“After that, you can build a stronger confidence and you can be more clinical, but it's always a dynamic.”

Le Bris conceded that Sunderland were not at their best against Millwall, although at least some of that was down to the quality of the opposition, who remain on the fringe of the play-off race.

“It wasn’t impressive with the ball, although the second half was a little bit better,” he said. “To be fair, I think our opponents were really well organised out of possession.

“The first half was tough because of their pressing triggers, they are really aggressive. It was a little bit easier in the second half. After that, if you can score the second goal, the game changes.”

Le Bris will hope that his side’s cohesion gradually starts returning as injured players are restored to the fold.

Enzo Le Fee could be available at the weekend, while Dennis Cirkin should be back within the next couple of weeks and Dan Ballard should also be available for selection by the time the play-offs begin.

The gap to seventh position means Sunderland are all-but assured of a play-off place, easing the pressure in the remaining month of the regular Championship campaign.

“First of all, I think we deserve this gap,” said Le Bris. “We’ll have this opportunity to maybe manage a little bit more the squad and give them the freshness they need. Hopefully, we'll have some players back (for the play-offs) as well.”

I'll never understand the stick Hume gets. Solid in defence and chips in massively going forward, I swear he puts a perfect cross on someone's head every other game...

Edit: "stick" might not be quite the word, but a lot of people seem to think we need to upgrade at RB, and that he'll never cut it in the Prem. I'm not sure I agree...

I would put Hume and Cirkin as 2 of our better assets.

Only thing that concerns me about Hume playing at a higher level is his pace, everything else is really good. His chance creation numbers are crazy for a fullback, especially considering he doesn't overlap that often.

Would probably agree, I’ve been a little bit disappointed with Cirkin because I know how good he can be

Cirkins never been the same since the wrist injury. Hopefully he gets back to his best form soon.

Defo. Expected him to really push on this season but hasn’t quite lived up to it so far. Hopefully get back to his best for the run in. Kudos to Hume because he’s really upped his game this season
