Had it not been for that hilarious error they would’ve taken 6 points off us though. They’d argue they’ve been the better team both games, certainly at home they were. We had a game plan of course and were never going to go toe to toe with them but on their day they’re comfortably the best team in the league imo. They’ve got a +51 GD lol
For all the complaints re: Patterson I don't think we'd actually be any higher or lower if we had a different keeper. Definitely can't say that for Leeds!!
There's been keeper errors in loads of PL games I've seen this season, Pickford included. Patterson is constantly under pressure because of how he's part of the system to tempt opposition players forward ... ... the crowd gasping every time he takes the ball, from the centre backs, can't help one bit. I really wish people would knock it off and give the lad some encouragement. They'll be singing 'He's one of our own' if he saves the penalty that takes us up at Wembley.
