Just walked through Clapham Common. Lots of people playing football, sun was out, people having after work drinks. It's been awful. Just so terrifying. Went to Asda earlier too where there were some Eid Mubarek signs. Had to help a black woman get some ice cream because she couldn't reach it. Strangely my watch was still there when I'd done that. Horrendous.
Aha, I was gonna say don’t mention the mosque I’m not aware of any attempt to impose Sharia Law on Seven Sisters Road though. And the guys in the Algerian butchers in Blackstock Road are genuinely friendly. My partner sends me in there for Merguez sausages - the best in London apparently. Also, the Jewish bakers, which has been there for donkeys years, does great beigels and cholla bread. Half their clientele seem to be African for some reason
Maybe the 'For You' algorithm on X is better than I give it credit for. I've just been served this please log in to view this image
I remember Brighton falling in 2015 and 2021 after a bin strike too, under the Conservative government.
As fun as these pages have been; and of course I get your points, facetious though they may be, there is much to be loved about multiculturalism; One of the many problems with infinite 'liberalism' and 'tolerance' is that your society will eventually be conquered by people who are less liberal and less tolerant. There has to be a line in the sand where you defend your society. If you don’t protect the values that created the tolerant society in the first place; it will cease to exist. UK is a time bomb of horrific government, awful border policy, lack of funding for police, on top of a pandering, two tier justice system.
All thanks to 14 years of Tory Thud and Blunder Politics, you cannot blame Starmer for any of that. There will be mistakes made while trying to sort the mess out, and nothing is going change overnight. Obsessive behaviour will also not solve anything.
