Which might be about to go down to 9, if the rumours are true, Salford are getting tossed out for the season...Who the hell is paying the players? As three have refused to turn out. It would appear the answer is no one....RL in crisis....The top 6 might become the only six.
the Super league is going to have 14 teams next year so I don't know where six comes from although Salford are a car crash this year - can't understand why someone would buy the club and then not pay the players
but not as embarrassing as City being the largest city in Europe never to have had a Premier League Club for over 90 years until 2008
Not really though London itself probably has more professional football clubs than pro rugby league clubs in the whole world
Nothing City have ever done, or could do, would embarrass me. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Nope, and on a personal level no one can make me feel embarrassed without my permission, and they ain't getting it. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Interesting stat. Rugby League is on the bones of its arse, even the former chairman of Saints, Mr Eamonn McManus, one of the foremost authorities on the game as said the same on 22nd March... If he is saying it its worth taking note of....Therefore the Super League might not be so super when there are only a small number of clubs financially solvent.
The same guy that helped lead Super League to breakaway from the RFL a few years ago which nearly bankrupt the sport?
Great sport is RL, sadly the quality of the leadership down the past 30/40/50 years has been dire...Hence, its still a M62 corridor sport and sadly will remain that way for many more years to come or become even more of a minority sport and be gone in the next 20 years, or even less. Trying to promote it in the US and further afield is a waste of time. Shame really.
Strange comment from a City fan. But addressing your point, the RL competition is tinpot compared to Football, twelve teams and most are small towns, I'd say that the number of times the so called giants FC and KR have won silverware in such a tinpot competition is even more embarrassing.
You surly are not trying to compare football with the tiny world of rugby league are you? Look at the RL Challenge Cup for example.....win three games and you are at Wembley? If Hull City played under the same rules Wembley would have been our second home, erm, almost, and we are the ONLY Hull team never to be nilled at Wembley.
Hull Fc were beaten out of sight nearly every game last season. Record defeats home and away virtually every week. Didn't one team put 70 points plus past them? They even beat the highest defeat record when they appeared at Wembley in the RL Cup twice on the trot in the late 50's early 60's. In fact Hull City are the only Hull team never to be 'nilled' at Wembley.
Have you got a clip of the highlights from Rovers 50 points to nil defeat at Wembley in the Cup Final not so long ago? Forget who it was against, like everyone now flocking to Craven Park has,
