I don’t know how lucky I am, I haven’t saw one thing pre or post match on the tv. Feel sorry for you lads.
“Best fanbase in the country” according to football insider. Because 300,000 of the m lined the streets. Obviously forget that it has been done numerous times in the past. When SAFC did it, it was from 10 miles outside the city centre!!!
Don't forget there'll be round the clock coverage with a lap of honour before and after the Brentford game next week ... ... Jimmy Nail will be singing on the pitch at half-time and they're exhuming Bobby Robson to come as a special guest. There'll be a free scarf left on every seat and a team photo after a 0-0 draw.
I've treated all the coverage as if it was Whamageddon. You know, where you've got to avoid hearing Wham's Last Christmas. Any time it's come on I've turned straight over, scrolld straight past anything on Facebook etc. I can honestly say I've not seen any coverage whatsoever. I'm quite proud of myself tbh.
Same here, avoided the local news all weekend from Friday morning, was out all day at our match yesterday, deactivated social media, only watched main news headlines. Quite proud to have avoided it all.
The media coverage has been way over the top mind. Aye they had their parade, but bloody hell, the way the media has gone you'd think they won the World Cup. It's been on every twatting channel just about, on every news outlet. I've probably gone through three sets of batteries in the tv remote just through channel hopping .
Please Brentford , do us a favour and do them 6-0 on Wednesday then Look Newcastle will not mention them and thus also not this charade
I never really understood what sportswashing was until they bought Newcastle. I learnt since and I saw it hung out in all its glory on Sunday. It's not strictly a Newcastle thing. It's a football thing. I dare say whoever the Saudi's bought the reaction of the supporters would have been similar. After all, supporters of other clubs congratulate them and seem to be in awe of them. I would have expected that the majority of supporters would be firmly against state owned teams winning trophies. I was wrong. But they picked the perfect club in Newcastle to air their washing. 300K there apparently. A third of them women? 10-30K of them homosexual? How can THEY celebrate with such gusto? I'm embarrassed that the average supporter is not only willing to bend over for anybody as long as they win a trophy but then to see 300K and the media celebrate our national game being ****ed up the arse? The modern game is not for me.
I've done well to avoid Sky Sports and local news but nearly got ambushed by a PR broadcast by Luke Edwards on Look North. I'd dozed off, woke up without my glasses and hearing aids. I thought I was watching Fred Elliot the butcher off Coronation Street.
