Morning. Bacon and egg butty on wholemeal for breakfast. Junior football kicks off at twelve, then back to potter in the garden with the cup games on. Golf in the morning, mother's day dinner after that. It'll be gone too soon.
Just got my result in. 29:15. Will take that, i had been going on off this past year and running with the wife because she has bad lungs. Probably did around 6 runs this past year (so not many) averaging around 44 minute haha. Haven't played footie in 6 months because of a bad back but pretty chuffed with my time
Got my kids first gig tonight at a white collar boxing event, just looking to get in and out as quick as possible.
yeah, it was pretty tiring but i was really motivated today. Normally i would just give up. Near the end i stopped for a walk for a few secs twice but i pushed myself. Recovered surprisingly fast. My cardio has never been my strong point which is why i've always told these boys i play in defence as theres less running involved haha. I think getting old and knowing i have to keep up the exercise to maintain is driving me in in the past few months and i want to see how long i can eek out playing football which i plan to do soon. Been playing golf recently as its a more "gentle" sport and i'm **** at it (i can only hit the ball with a 7iron and none of the woods/drivers) even after a few lessons and when you are **** its no fun.
Been golfing for over 30 years and can still just about hit a 7 iron, lessons are worth their weight in gold. I did the lawn today to aerate, took two hours and I feel like I have been it with a cricket bat. Have two bruises on my thigh just above knee from stepping in garden fork.
Only just seen this. You won't enjoy being ****, no. If you want to get anything out of the sport, be taught. You can't teach yourself, you'll just teach yourself how to be more **** at golf. If you're only in it for bantz etc., this is OK. But when you hit that shot and think to yourself 'I want to do that every shot', then you will need lessons. I can't recommend how much it is the perfect half day of your weekend, afternoon, morning, whatever, it is. I don't think I'd be mentally in the right place without it. It keeps me sane. I've just been invited to join our GC vets section, but I also play competitively against much younger blokes who smash the **** out of it and are a millions miles better. But, that's what the handicap is all about. In this environment, it's not that gentle! But it's ****ing magic.
Mother’s Day innit. Don’t forget to give her a call and lie the flowers are lost in the post if she’s alive and you’ve forgotten. Delivery for today was £7 but free for yesterday so I’ve effectively made £7 on my overpriced flowers. Also Eid. All the lads out in their best garms and AirMax this morning. Happy Eid to the Eidsters.
