Alzate - at least found our players with his passes Puerta - tried to make things work, didnt happen but at least he tried Gelhardt - again tried Not sure I agree with Hughes or Coyle in the top 3 today, Hughes distribution was awful always looking for the Hollywood ball and Coyle just can't pass forward.
The guy with the big beard first few rows in middle of East stand who had a full on rant for about 10 minutes at the linesman. Was the best entertainment all match
Gelhardt- ran his socks off Puerta- does what he does but not as good today McCloughlin- put in a shift.
Gelhardt - had little impact but worked hard and tried to make things happen. Alzate - Kept the ball well. Didn’t use it to great effect. Puerta - Looked marginally more interested than other players. Wasn’t afraid to receive the ball in tight areas and didn’t lose it.
1. Alzate - Class passing, tackling, seemed to be everywhere. 2. Hughes - Tackling defensivel masterclass 3. Coyle - Wanted it more than anyone else out there today.
Took my Mrs, sat in block E5, people round us were the usual pain in the arse people I’d normally expect to be in the West Stand. She saw the game from an independent viewpoint. She saw Kamara, said he was lazy, TBF, he’s not had his best game, I personally thought he tried very hard today, just unlucky with his choices, should have had his cross finished in the first half, but like all our chances today, Luton blocked everything. So for her MOM, there were 2 choices, but no definitive No1, so she picked Coyle or Hughes, I think Hughes seemed to be more the preferred No1!
Geldhardt Coyle Altaze. Very disappointing all round today. Big, big loss and let's be honest we never looked like scoring. Beaten by a very soft goal with a big slice of luck attached to it but that's what happens when you don't score at the other end, and it came directly after the half time break, again. I thought the team selection was wrong and we lacked height and physicality all over the pitch, again. We are far too soft at home and make it easy for all visiting sides. It is now a huge problem and seriously needs sorting out. That means everything about our home performances on and off the pitch because it is clearly not good enough
Alzate Hughes Coyle Nobody who operates any further forward than Alzate is deserving of plaudits. Toothless.
Personally I think it’d be better at Boothferry Park with 3000 fans standing in the rain than the ****ty atmosphere at this stadium!
