30 points from winning positions has to be a record , it makes for thoroughly depressing viewing too . Sadly I'm expecting Sargent & Sainz & possibly Fisher to be sold in the summer to keep the American owner's investment ticking over . For years fans have been calling for Delia to sell up to some moneybags foreign investors & we are still a selling club .
Yes we are still a selling club and certainly will remain so while in this division. The difference is however the need to sell. Delia only had the finances to keep us afloat by selling £20-30m worth of players each year, selling was a necessity. Now that weight has been lifted and selling is a choice, and the money made from the sales can be re-invested in hopefully better/more expensive players that can be sold for an even higher value. So we are still a selling club but more so in the Brighton type model…hopefully
It feels like we are lurching from one injury crisis to another, 8 midfielders available today must be a season high! But the defence is taking the hit now and specifically the left side with Doyle out with a calf injury added to Chrisene and Mahovo. Leaving us with only 1 defender available in the bench. Sorensen is an interesting inclusion, presumably he will play as a deep lying 6 / 3rd CB providing some license for both wing backs to push on a bit higher
A lot of people hating on Sorensen online at the moment, seems to be the latest target, despite having hardly put a foot wrong other than being injured. He’s a steady DM which people have been clamouring for and then lose their minds when we actually play one.
Crnac has been good in his defensive work and ball carrying but this is by far the worst passing I have seen from him
This is a typical game by City, excellent in patches messed up by sloppy passes/tackles/positioning. I am far from convinced by Spokane though.
Would disagree about his defensive work as he's looked slow and clumsy, reactive rather than proactive and he's our lowest rated player. For me Schwartau is better at closing down players and breaking up play. Crnac's strength lies in his 1-2 play with Sargent which has created some good chances but his overall passing has been poor. The difference between the teams is the distance we lay off their players allowing easy possession whereas they close down our players and press hard.
Not the greatest first half here at Carrow Road but then my expectations were not too high today sadly! A bit of a light hearted moment on the pitch at half time. A Norwich fan was about to take part in the cross bar challenge against his girlfriend but instead of doing so, he proposed to her.... ....cue the West Brom fans in full voice singing "You don't know what you're doing!!"
