Were bleddy doomed I tell ya......doomed.

More injury woes. Just how much bad luck can one club have in one season? I'm just not sure what to make of anything anymore. Just do your best lads and lets see what happens.

Decent first half from Argyle. Watford having the possession but achieving little with it while Argyle having a few chances. Hardie is looking a real threat.

Under real pressure in the second half with Watford’s Baah having come on down their right and causing havoc.

Good away point....but not enough....Luton win at Hull and widen the gap between us.

A torrid second half but one in which we had two gilt-edged chances to win it with breaks from defensive positions in the last 5 minutes or so. In both cases, we threw them away.

Firat Baidoo dwelt on the ball 30 yards out when he had two unmarked runners to pick from. Then, in another turnover situation, Tijani passed to one of theirs from the centre circle when he had unmarked runners to right and left.

Ordinarily, this would be a good away performance. Given our position in the league, it’s no good at all.

I’ve just seen Luton’s goal. A Hull defender clears the ball but hits a teammate on the side of the head and the ball loops in. Someone up there hates us.

That gap doesn't matter. It's the gap between us and Cardiff and Stoke that counts. At the moment that's one nearer not further away.

Only because neither Derby or Cardiff have played yet.....if either get 3pts then the gap is 7 or 8pts.

We could have won this. It would have been against the run of play but as a wise and ancient man once said (or twice), it’s only the score that counts.

We defended stoutly in the main and I think without much bias, we had the best 4 chances in the game.

I’ll forgive Hardie his two. He hit the target with the first but the keeper saved. With the second, he passed for a tap in when with his ability, he should have shot from a narrow angle.

The other two, I can’t forgive. All that stout defending has given us the ball on transition with Watford shorthanded at the back (3 against 2 in the first one) and wasted them. All that hard work wasted for want of one pass.

Whether played or not it's the gap between 24th and 21st that counts whoever that may be. 23rd and 22nd are still relegated. It's quite simple mathmatics really.

Assuming Derby and Luton don’t suddenly become world beaters, we need to take 7 points more than Cardiff in 7 games.

We have to play Sheffield United, Middlesbrough and Leeds. Unfortunately, the two Uniteds have Burnley right behind them so they can’t take their feet off the accelerator.

It’s not impossible and apart from taking our opportunities, this was a decent performance, probably the best for several weeks.

    If I was a betting man though……

We're nearing the time that all results need to bring in 3pts....it ain't going to happen....doesn't matter how good our defence is.....we need to start scoring goals and fast.

Not being relegated this season is just a pipe dream. We all know deep down it's over for this term. All I ask of the players is that they don't just give in without any fight at all. Give it a go in every match even if mathmatically it aint possible anymore. I'm fed up with watching us collapse week in week out and don't even mind a return to league one and a more successful season.

I'll pretend I've never read that BC....I'm feeling just a little fragile after putting forward the clocks by an hour last night.....without hearing such blasphemous talk.

I don’t want to whip up false hope because there are few games left and we aren’t likely to get anything from Burnley or Leeds, who will have to push to the last to go up automatically rather than via the playoffs.

Firstly though, as I’ve already said, although they won the stats on paper, we made the better chances. On another day, Hardie would have got two on his own and there were two gilt-edged positions in the second half in which we caught them on the transition which we wasted.

Secondly though, we played some better football. It’s been like a series of rugby up-and -unders recently but the ball was on the grass quite a bit more yesterday. Muslic said in the week that Randell is our best player and perhaps with a couple of weeks off, he looked it.

The big thing is that if the new investors get the green light (how appropriate), we’ll have a very competitive playing budget in League 1 - in the top few perhaps and in the middle of the Championship if we can go back up. The infrastructure spend will continue too.

We have a charismatic manager who has no compunction about leaving players out if they don’t give 100% whilst at the same time, seemingly keeping morale in the team very high despite the circumstances.

So far, the fans have stuck to the team like glue. Home Park is jammed full every week. After some of the worst results, the crowd have voiced their displeasure but from before kickoff at the next match, it’s back to its normal roisterous, some would say intimidating, best.

It was acknowledged that we got promoted to the Championship perhaps two years earlier than planned. With the new money coming into an already financially stable club, we’ll just have to do it again, on schedule this time.

The very statement that there is a strategic plan consisting of finance, infrastructure and operations (ie the team) which underpins the intention to become a sustainable Championship team marks us out from probably 90% of teams generally, who give every impression they couldn’t plan their way out of a paper bag. And the plan is not just on paper. The investors are coming in and the first phase of the academy (the public fitness and wellness centre) is open already.

As I was writing the above, I was thinking that I think Muslic is charismatic but he hasn’t in fact got a crowd chant, which I’d put down to his name not rhyming with anything useful.

Adjusting for the hour, it’s breakfast time and I think I’ve cracked it.
