Shortened version is that the youth don't have the disposable cash after they've paid rent/mortgage, nor do they drink out as much as previous generations due to changing social habits... Not necessary to go to bars/clubs to meet partners anymore.

I’ve been working on the BBC 6 Music Festival in Manchester for the last few days. I’m absolutely exhausted. Great performances from Ezra Collective, Mogwai, and Kae Tempest. Worth a watch on iPlayer.
