v v Back to championship action on Saturday with Bristol City making the long trek to turf moor for a crucial away game that could be crucial in the playoff hunt. City go there in good form and should give Burnley a game. A win is what we would like-a draw would be okay- a loss not so good. Burnley have won 4 of their last six championship games and are only two points of top of the table Leeds sharing 80 points with sheff utd. Burnley clearly have their sites on winning the championship and a win against city would do their chances a world of good. For me a win here would really show our pedigree in the race for a top six spot. A loss and the effect it will have will all depend on the teams around us but this is a big game for city. A Draw is probably the best we can expect-but as we all know football is a funny old game. Enjoy the ride fellow reds at least we are playing for playoff spot-something that has not happened since Gary Johnson was in charge. Bristol City are taking a decent away following who will back the lads to the end-you reds. Last time i went to Turf Moor it was battle of the alamo outside -police and dogs everywhere and Burnley and City lads squaring up
If ever there was a better time to show the world that we too are capable of getting there then this has to be it on all fronts. There are some that are shocked that we are so close going into the last shakes of this campaign but the table doesn't lie and here we are still waiting to see if we have enough oomph to crack the Premier ceiling via the play-offs again as we so nearly did under the direction of Gary Johnson back in the day when something went terribly wrong on the way to the forum that ruined any chance we had on that specific day of defeat. Are we worthy of a shot given that our history seems to tell a story of apathy in regard to getting to the promised land of football riches or should we just be satisfied with a place down on the mushroom farm? From what I can see I believe that if we win all of our remaining matches then we could be in with a shout but anything that looks and smells like the past will not be enough in my world but first we have to step up and be counted if we truly want to visit Wembley for all the right reasons and not just be the also-rans. Come on City brighten our lives for a couple of exciting weeks where we can cheer like idiots and drink like the same but it would be worth it for once.
I think the most important thing about tomorrow’s game is that we will go into it as underdogs. Nobody, including myself, expect anything from it, so if it goes as expected we must dust ourselves off and concentrate on getting maximum points from our remaining fixtures. We mustn’t let our heads drop if Burnley beat us - it’s what everyone expects.
I agree to a point. That’s ok as fans, BUT the players cannot afford to go into it in any other frame of mind than believing they can win the game. It’s a team game, so whilst they may have better individuals if we play as a team there’s no reason why we can’t get something out of the game. COYR
absolutely I think the starting line up will be the key.. they have a cast iron defence that conceeds very few average of 1 goal in every 4 match's [ almost ] and scored just 4 more than City.... IN HIS CAMEO appearances Cornick has sort of showed a bit of savvy....... start with HIM and Wells? Armstrong second half as have power sub!!!!
We are more than capable of losing this match based on our past history of losing key games and doing it during the final moments. Given that tag of eternal last minute losers should mean we are huge underdogs for this one so we can out and play our game and let Burnley worry about needing all 3 points to further their right to Premiership status. If we play at our absolute best, and that means everybody and not just one or two putting in the effort demanded from this difficult road trip, we know we are still in with a good chance of achieving the goal of reaching the play-offs for the first time since Gary Johnson was here. The effort put in has to be equal for all of our remaining games otherwise we will fall behind in the necessary points tally as the number of games and points available rapidly disappear over the horizon. Do we want to be in it and can we win it ???
I do think we can get a point here. Our challenge will be, how do we score against the meanest defence in this league (by some distance as well). It might take a free-kick or penalty, so a chance for Twine to shine.
m6 north at junction 10?10a closed and area around gridlocked since after 9am this am any BCFC COACH'S CAUGHT MIGHT BE LATE! Later coach's could divert via m42/a42 m1 then across trans penine? to A646?
Burnley don’t score ‘a lot’ of goals for a team in the top 3, but they are measly in terms of giving up goals, so… does LM setup us up not to lose, rather than to try and win.
Don’t go crazy, but don’t set up to park the bus either. I’d rather we failed giving it a go, apart from anything else we’re not good at just defending
