After a somewhat disappointing run of form, picking up just five points from their last four games, the Whites find themselves level on points with Sheffield United and only two ahead of a resurgent Burnley. A victory is crucial to maintain their automatic promotion ambitions. Swansea City, languishing fifteen places and a significant 34 points behind Leeds, arrive in Yorkshire desperate for points of their own. Hovering precariously close to the relegation zone, the Swans will be keen to upset the odds and distance themselves from the drop. Adding extra spice to the encounter is Swansea's caretaker manager, Alan Sheehan, who enjoyed an 18-month spell at Elland Road during Leeds' League One days. He would relish the opportunity to earn a victory against his former club. Swansea will be without Harry Darling (hip), Kristian Pedersen (recovering from hamstring surgery), and Myles Peart-Harris (back). Hannes Delcroix, who was ineligible to play against his parent club Burnley before the international break, should return to the fold. Leeds United, on the other hand, received encouraging injury updates from manager Daniel Farke. Ethan Ampadu, who had been sidelined with a knee injury, has made a swift recovery and is back in full training, confirming his availability for the match. Trio Dan James, Joel Piroe and Joe Rodon should all start against their former club! The participation of Willy Gnonto remains uncertain due to an ankle injury he took on International Duty with the Italian U21's. Farke has suggested that the injury is not too serious, and a late decision will be made regarding his inclusion in the squad. Gnonto has only participated in a lighter training session this week. Further boosting Leeds' squad, Max Wober has rejoined team training, marking a significant step in his recovery. Patrick Bamford has also been actively training for the past two weeks, indicating positive progress in his rehabilitation, though his match fitness remains to be seen.
Good news on the injury front. it looks like Willy will be on the bench but if the game turns out we are in cruise control he won't be used as Farke said the Luton game is more the target, Great news Amps is back and it deffo looks like he will be back in the 11. So plenty positive news. its time to make a statement again and get a comfortable win not necessarily a thumping but a game we are well in control of. 1st goal is always massive for us because it takes the anxiety out of the play we deffo are a confidence playing side when things go right we tend to play with a swagger expecting us to win all our remaining 4 home games so lets get the show on the road again pls Leeds.
Bad news is that i missed out on tickets twice when they went on sale, then missed the ballot and it seems to be pretty much sold out with nothing coming available. There was one ticket available in the family stand but it said that it's not possible to buy one ticket because it's for families. Suppose it makes sense to someone.
I hope the French lad in goal watched Darlow for the Wales game the other night, also Mr Farke hope you took note. positioning…good, commanding his box… good, distribution…. Very good Just saying, we cannot afford any cock ups for the last 8 games.
Well.....the weekend is about to start with Sheff Utd vs Coventry. Our two favourite managers going head to head. Sheff Utd are 21/20 for the win. I've lumped on.
I’m there tomorrow… cheapskating on a freebie posh ticket. 3 course meal and ‘padded seats’ apparently. Not a proper football experience - not even pie on the menu - but sometimes you have to make sacrifices to support your team.
That would be East Stand I'm guessing? I'd much rather be at the back of the kop or in the South stand. Much more my scene. You get told off for standing up in the East stand. Boils my piss.
Was about to post, I’m sincerely wishing Fat Frank every success - for about the next 2 hours, that is. Then the **** can **** right off.
Coventry have played some nice football without threatening. Sheffield united done very little and find themselves 2 up. It’s a gift they have
