I always think I could do a lot better then realise I can't remember the last time I kicked a ball. Well I can but don't count it as it was after an all day drinking session I tried to show an 8 year old hiw to do a bicycle kick and ended up on crutches for a week or 2
Good point, well made. If that had of been a football match and not a rugby ( we don't get any trouble) league game, the club would have been heavily fined and the probably forced to play its home games behind closed doors. Must have been one hell of a brush to manage to brush that lot under the carpet so quickly.
In fairness the training ground has had a major investment in it. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
I actually wrote that originally, then realised I was writing something ****y without thinking and changed it.
“Matchday experience” is a phrase that should be expunged. A phrase used by those who have no idea of what a proper football atmosphere should be like.
Like it or hate it. It’s the way the modern game is going. You want to attract casual fans and earn money you’ve got to make it worthwhile for families and the like to come and spend their cash. Something which the club is doing a fairly good job of behind the scenes
I know some people don't like it but we're never going back to 1970s or whatever era had 'proper' football fans I hear they even let women in these days
They always did. My wife was going to City matches in 1972. Just a shame that our stadiums which used to be the ones the Europeans envied for their atmosphere are now sterile, soulless places whilst the European ones are the noisy, vibrant ones.
The second division in Germany does OK. I know which atmosphere i would prefer between this one in Germany and the flat atmosphere at the MKM with nearly 90% of fans sat down in silence, more interested in scoffing than getting behind the team.
I don’t think it has full ties into atmosphere. Plenty of clubs follow this suit of creating an all round match day experience for fans and gain atmosphere. As someone who’s been to games on the continent including Germany they’re doing it with fan parks now.
