Funny this should come up today when I've just seen this article. As you may know, my wife is originally from Glasgow and when I don't hear what she says, I get "for God's sake put your hearing aid in" (I'm deaf in one ear). My reply is "I heard you ok but I didn't understand what you were saying". Partly as a joke but also because from time to time she'll throw in a couple of Scottish words that mean absolutely nothing to other English speaking nations. It then all kicks off from there as she hates me because I'm English. I've sent this link to her in an email so I'm out of arm's reach when she reads it.

Not sure if this is normal for the time of year but this photo was taken today in the Sierra Nevada, Andalusia. Skiing still open.

At Miami International Airport today, an individual, later discovered to be a public school teacher, was arrested trying to board a flight while in possession of a compass, a protractor, and a graphical calculator.

Authorities believe he is a member of the notorious Al-Gebra movement which has struck terror into the lives of many for generations. He is being charged with carrying weapons of math instruction.

Surely, with those weapons, he's part of the Geo-metri splinter group, followers of Pi-Thaggerass

Someone mentioned, on the politics thread, the concept of “stranger danger” and it reminded me of a conversation I had with my youngest son when he was 3 years old.
We were walking to collect his brother from school and the conversation went something like this.
Son - We have to go and get W from school, don’t we.
Me - Yes that’s right. He’s not old enough to walk home by himself.
Son - If we don’t go and get him he might go with a stranger.
Me - That’s right, but he knows he mustn’t go with a stranger.
Son - if he does go with a stranger, can I have his bike?

How a kids mind works. <laugh><laugh>

Watched Conclave yesterday .
Great plot / Actung .
Stunning cinematography .

So Flow this afternoon .

I thought it was excellent .

A bit sad in a couple of places , and if there was a “ MESSAGE “ I didn’t get it , will be watching it again soon though .

First non-speach film I have ever seen , didn’t miss it at all ., and the fact the 80 minutes flew by , is how I know I enjoyed it .

Huge contrast! Map showing rainfall behaviour in Europe during the bi-monthly February - March 2025.

In much of the continent a significant rainfall deficit has been recorded, being generally very dry. However, in most of the #IberianPeninsula it has been very wet, essentially due to the affect of the "Atlantic blizzard train" that has taken place in this month of March.

Keep an eye on the data! Between 1 and 24 March 2025, 148 l/m2 have accumulated in the whole of #Spain. It is about 3.5 times more than the normal value of that period (44 l/m2). It's already the third rainiest March of the series, which starts in 1961. Ahead, March 2013 (160 l/m2) and 2018 (165 l/m2)

What will happen in April? #SemanaSanta is coming. We shall see. The location of the Anticyclone of the Azores plays a fundamental role.

I wasn't going to bore the non dog lovers on here for a while but thought @thereisonlyoneno7 might like this (or maybe not!). Yours is probably perfectly behaved.

And this one's for me as we're not sure how long ours is going to be around. 14yrs old and slowly deteriorating. It's not been a good year but she's trying to keep her chin up.

And finally, you may have seen this already, it's dog themed again but I'll try to get all this doggy stuff over and done with.
