Really? For a 19 year old who’s had half a good season in a relegated team. It looks like he wants to go, so he’s going. If we get £40m that would be incredible.
£20 million would be overpriced fot him. If i was a fan of thr club buying, i woukd be underwhelmed to pay more.
A reminder that we got 20m for Tella, who was crap in the Prem, in a better side, at an older age. And we got 40m for Livramento, who also had his fair share of below-par performances, and was injured for nearly a season and a half. 20m ffs.
£30m for Luke Shaw 10 years ago! Don’t tell Ian the price of a Freddo nowadays, he’ll have a heart attack.
I don't understand some of our fans I really don't. £20million for our most valuable asset - an academy player so we get 100% of the sale as profit for PSR? No ****ing chance. Besides, it's great to have owners who refuse to roll over for big teams. For all of their faults, SR haven't let anyone of note go cheaply. It's great to see them stick a marker in the sand already with Dibling - you want him, it's going to cost you and don't bother with bids under 50mill.
I see it as our fan base basically having a big collective sulk. Everything and anything happening at Southampton FC must be turned instantly into a negative. All our players are sh*t, the academy is sh*t, what's the f*cking point, yadda yadda. Everyone (myself included) complained about letting Amo-Ameyaw go cheaply, but now we are all seemingly in favour of letting Dibling go even more cheaply (relatively speaking). I can't get my head around it. It's most evident when you see people commenting things like 'get rid of the whole squad' etc. Just braindead moaning for the sake of it. Laces said it yesterday. Some people just get annoyed whatever happens.
Don't include me in the collective sulk , it may be a grumpy majority with legitimate concerns but I don't think I'm alone in taking a positive view going forward and getting top price for Dibling and Fernandes. The SR outers should have a think about what the alternatives are given some of the disastrous owners other clubs have.
If you watched him completely own Mo Salah in the League Cup Final you would say £40 million was a bargain.
Comnents are fair enough but i still think Dibling's first season in the Prem started well but has seriously dipped off. Given his inability to settle at Chelsea , i cannot see him commanding a fee of around £100 mill mooted in the press just yet nor a tier one team signing him. Would see Spurs as being a realistic option.
Are we allowed to pick alternatives like Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentfords owners or is it only allowed to be Reading/Sheffield Wednesday?
Whilst that was one game, I do think he is very good. But how much do the best full backs in the world go for - I think the record fee is about £60m. So paying £40m for a kid that has has one good season and just come back from a career threatening injury is still insane
No, pick from potential owners not those in place. I'd be concerned that anyone buying us would asset strip.
