The incumbent council should be legally bound not to overspend and leave the next council, like Birmingham, Bristol. and loads of others with an unmanageable mountain of debt, where they have to cut millions of pounds of local services, and have to charge citizens more via Council Tax, all to provide a worse service. It's tax upon tax upon tax in this country but nothing improves despite all the extra money.

From what I’ve heard the fit and able young men, all of fighting age who are waiting to make the crossing and invade our country, get very aggressive when the French Police try to stop them. With the amount of time Starmer spends with Macron, you’d think he’d be holding him to account given the huge amount of money we’ve paid them to Police their own coastline But of course Starmer won’t, he’s all in favour of it We want to attract the worlds brightest and best to this country to come and live AND WORK, but what we don’t need is thousands of unskilled leeches who come to game our system. At what point does someone with any balls say ‘enough’ ? Give them basic food and shelter, but no money, no phone and no freedom to roam this country at will until they are sent back to their country of origin. No appeals granted, because these are not genuine refugees, and the numbers crossing the channel would fall off a cliff overnight
There is some credit to that approach, I think the difficulty is once they’re here we HAVE to process them. I’m all for doing whatever is needed to speed that process up and then send those that fail back. The Rwanda thing imo was a gimmick that was never going to work. I know lots on here disagree and I respect that view, but that’s what I think.
Other countries are getting very tough on properly securing their borders such as Poland, who now have massive steel fences and armed guards in place to stop any illegal entry to their lovely country In the UK this practice has been gaining momentum since 2018 and imho I believe we should be trying to do an awful lot more to protect our citizens and start reducing the massive burdens on our housing, welfare and health service plus, our values and culture
