And Constitution Hill 3/1 for the Champion Hurdle. Really? £20 to win £60 for a Hendo horse. You’ve got 12 months of drama to live through before he even lines up.

What price The New Lion? My idea of the winner at this (very early) stage

Just checked - best price 7/1 Bet365. He and Anzadam would be the 2 I would be interested in but the latter probably more at 16/1.

Caldwell Potter 20/1 for the Ryanair catches my eye too - he will be at the top table next season.

Jagwar could very well make up into a Ryanair horse next season

His was a very impressive win. Not sure when the handicapper announces his view on it but likely to put him up to 155 or above. Quite amusing really after Cobden got off him the time before and issued a less than complimentary assessment of his ability.
    Edit: CP’s revised rating 155

Going on what the stable have done in the past surely Caldwell Potter's first main objective, in term 25/26, is going to be the Paddy Power Gold Cup.

Seemingly, at this point in his career, Caldwell Potter has a somewhat similar profile to both Stage Star and Ginny's Destiny. Both ultimately, to date, came up short in their bids to be Grade 1 chasers and I'd suspect Caldwell Potter will be the same.

    Anzadam
Anzadam was the reason why many a bookmaker arrived at the '25 Cheltenham Festival with a Caribbean tan and why many an ante-post punter arrived with a sallow, pasty complexion.

I do seriously like this horse though. I guess the nagging question, and doubt, though is his current injury.

I know this isnt the topic but not sure where else it could go. Mayhem Mya finishing a 20 lengths 4th in the Mares Chase gets a 7lb hike in the ratings. Hardly going to encourage trainers to have a go.
On the other side of the coin did we really not have 10 mid 120s+ rated hurdlers that could have run in the County Hurdle? Only 16 of 26 entry slots taken up. Piss poor really.

Reading Mr Nicholls' latest comments, re Caldwell Potter, it appears that he may be thinking King George VI, on St Stephen's Day, for the horse. The old boy is keen to try him over 3 miles at Aintree (although the 20 furlong alternative has not been totally ruled out at the meet) with a view to seeing if Caldwell Potter would be a viable proposition in the top races at around that distance next term.

Looking back on the old ante post portfolio and Willie Bingo was not very kind this time around.

Lossiemouth champion hurdle 12/1- Ouch. Hosed up in the Mares Hurdle and could have won the champion hurdle if Willie had grown a pair!
Fact to File Gold Cup 12/1-Another brilliant performance except in the Ryanair. Definitely one to consider for next years gold cup
Jade De Grugy 16/1 Mares Hurdle- Second to Lossiemouth. They really need to change the rules in this race!
Kopes Des Bordes 25/1 Gallagher Novices Hurdle- This one hurt. I had some nice bets on this lad but he ended up going to the Turners:emoticon-0101-sadsm
Majborough 14s Browns Advisory- Ended up in the Arkle but jumped badly.
Murcia 33/1 Triumph Hurdle- Finished 8th in the Fred Winter hurdle.

Its is fair to say that this years festival just shows how difficult ante post betting has become. Guessing the correct race alone is hard enough let alone winning it. Bookies prices also seem to get worse every season. Constitution Hill 3/1 for next years champion hurdle! Crazy stuff. Sir Gino might not make it to a course again but is somehow 3/1 for the Champion Chase:emoticon-0145-shake
Anyway ive selected four horses which I believe represent a little bit of value, two of which come with a WBW( Willie Bingo Warning)

Jasmin De Vaux 16/1 Stayers Hurdle. Always a chance they go chasing with him but his small frame and bad jumping technique could mean he sticks to hurdles. Willie doesn't really seem to target this race with his better horses and I think he has stronger chasers in the yard. This year's race wasn't the strongest so if he does line up he will be alot shorter in the market.

Marine Nationale 12/1 Champion Chase. We know he likes Cheltenham and his target is confirmed. Sir Gino is injured and I can't be having Jonbon. I've a sneaky feeling Majborough may go up in trip to the Ryanair.

Kawaboomga 20/1 EW Arkle- His win against William Munny reads very well and is twice the price. Always the risk he stays over hurdles but there are more options for him over fences.

Derryhassen Paddy 33/1 EW Brown Advisory. Lucinda Russell has already confirmed this lad will go chasing following his fourth place finish in the Albert Bartlett. so the target is more or less confirmed.

I have a couple more that I'm interested in mainly Anzadam but will wait for an injury update.
