Didn't watch. But reading the match report sounds like it was more of the same, controlled and dull

You've get to get two more points from somewhere, Derby need to keep that title!

But isn’t that because the gap at the top of champ to the rest is also huge? The parachute payments have a massive impact that made the champ even more unbalanced then the prem.

Leeds sheff Burnley all cruising at the top of the champ - Luton are an obvious exception. Leicester saints would be massive favs to go straight back up and Ipswich prob be play offs minimum.

There is a gap I agree, I just don’t think it’s as huge as making out just because the bottom 3 are so far behind. As mentioned in my earlier post, I think all 3 could have helped themselves far more than they have - might still have gone down but telling me Leicester wouldn’t have picked up more than 4/5 points in last 10/12 games that RVN has taken over from?

Yeah the gap at the top of the championship caused by parachute payments is just as big an issue undoubtedly. Both things are related ultimately. Although Ipswich still managed back to back promotions which was good to see.

I'm not saying the gap is bigger purely because the promoted sides have been so poor for two seasons on the bounce, I'm just basing it on what I've watched over the past two seasons. Even the ****e sides like Wolves/Everton are a million miles ahead.

Like I say you only have to look at us in 13/14 and Ipswich this season to see how much the gap has increased. We did back to back promotions and finished 14th relatively comfortably while Ipswich did and are miles off despite having the best manager of the 3 promoted clubs. And jf they keep him they'll romp the league next year imo.

I agree that Leicester would have more points if they hadn't have sacked Cooper but equally Wolves shouldn't have been as bad as they were early in the season and would likely have had more points if they sacked O'Neil earlier.

Thing as I said the fact this has happened two years on the bounce helps make it worse because every team now has a pretty settled PL squad. Normally the favourites for relegation outside the promoted sides are those in their second season and those who've been circling for a while, how many clubs fit that criteria for next season?

Two to equal and three to get past it.

Either way not happening imo. We're awful and the players chucked it in months ago. Realistically there's only one winnable game left which is Leicester in May.

Would be rather fitting if we did equal it though and then played Derby on the opening day next season. El Crapico.

I can't stand Derby and don't really like Leicester either so would be quite nice for you to beat the latter to avoid taking the formers record <laugh>

Beat Leicester to get to 12 points and confirm their relegation. That's the dream.

I'd almost consider that a semi successful season at this point <laugh>

It will probably be in the championship before long.

Which will be extra **** as it doesn't have the better KO time advantages anymore either.

Are you falling out of love generally with football or, like some of us, just with the money/greed way it's going?

I fell out of love with football as a sport years ago to be honest, especially at the highest level. It's definitely more enjoyable in the championship with less hype/tourism etc but ultimately I just don't particularly enjoy the sport anymore - my interest is the emotional attachment to SFC rather than the actual sport itself.

The championship will be much worse next season than last season too as they have loads of 12:30 KO's now so we'll probably have less 3pm games than this season. Not particularly looking forward to playing someone like Middlesbrough away at 12:30.

Once they bring VAR into it it'll be basically as dead as the PL.

I said I would walk away if we got a despotic regime as owners. We've got 2 in the PL now and it's changed the game for the worse and will continue to do so. Like you, my interest is only in my club now. It would be really hard to walk away but I could always 'adopt' another lower league team to follow.

There's massive midtable competition now, not only top 6. Everyone has a star or two and the sides thst come up seel to think they are all Barcelona and have to pass it round until they lose it.

Nobody is hoofing it up to the big man. Southampton of an absolute massive lump to hoof it at and get in and around

    The never ending England debate.

Basically you can get zero credit out of these qualifiers.

There's only 2 games that matter v Serbia and then you top the group.

It's that piss easy so you learn nothing playing against these sides.

Tuchel is experimenting with Bellingham position and trying out a fe walkers here and there.

    It's a clear 4231 type system.

    Rashford was ****.
    Foden was ****.

    Thsts about it really.

He always did like to slow the game down a bit - that should help.

Yeah fifa are throwing money at it because the tv deal is huge and the tv deal will want the best players there to make sure getting viewing figures.

only way to make sure teams play best players is to throw obscene money at them

Real Madrid are seemingly willing to pay lfc 5mil to get trent in June not July 1 to play this thing.

I mean it's a clear easy win for European teams if they bother themsevles to bring a squad.
