What has Rashford done to earn a call-up, let alone a start? He’s not been a complete lazy bastard since joining Villa and has done okay, nothing more. Not that I think he deserves a call-up but Sancho’s been better for Chelsea than him. Dan Burn at centre-half and Kyle Walker at right-back too. Good lord.

and / or because football has largely become so predictable and formulaic? Would help if players were willing to, capable of and allowed to take on and beat their man (and more). Instead, it's nearly all safe, predictable, boring, possession-based football. FFS, do something exciting.
