Good comebacks against Spurs and Brighton after the blip against Wolves. The Spurs game we were unlucky not to get the 3 points, but for Brighton it was only the 3rd goal that settle me down and a good 3 points to take us to 6th. Arsenal and Liverpool up next.
After the Watford cup game that's 9 games undefeated, mostly against tougher opposition, the Southampton game was a disappointment, but other than that most of the other games were entertaining although certain failures still in letting in late goals. But that has been countered by us scoring late goals, and the Chelsea game was sweeeet. Next game up against West Ham and their new 'Bounce' manager Potter. Can we keep our good form going up against London clubs so far this season. ? I'm still miffed about the late Ings goal we let in at the Home game, it's one of the games we dropped points in.
Another inept display against West Ham away, gifting them the 3 points, this time from an unexpected poor display from Leno. On to Leicester we go. Silva is struggling to get a performance out of Emile Smith Rowe, leaving us playing with only 10 men till he's subbed, his performances of late have been well below par. Not sure what's wrong but he struggles to make any impact. Wigan away in the 4th Rd FA Cup
Well the 2 - 0 win at the King Power brought me full bragging rights over Mrs 2WS at the weekend, 4-1 on aggregate this season, get in. Much as with the Wet Spam game, we had control for long spells, but we made no defensive mistakes. It was very noticeable that Leno's play was much quicker, and very little tippy tappy stuff in front of goal, great to see. Man U under the Cottage lights coming up this coming weekend, 7pm on a Sunday is strange, and not sure if I'd be a happy Man U fan travelling home after that. But, I'd not be happy being a Man U fan anyway. COYW's, and come on, everyone who reads this site, we need more involvement, please.
Well it happened again, a late Man United goal after controlling much of the game, but not really creating too many clear chances. Bit of a Boring game and Marco wasn't too pleased that we lost by a lucky deflected goal. Our home form is starting to stutter.
Newcastle was a pleasant result with a good 2nd half performance. Expect some team changes for the Wigan Cup game with Cairney, Josh King, Sessegnon and may be Godo getting starting slots.
The Wigan game shouldn't have been the struggle it became in the 2nd half, after Fulham had dominated the 1st half. But the Wigan goal gave them the confidence so it was lucky that Muniz scored his second to put us into the next round. Need to look to get a better backup then Benda from Leno otherwise an injury to Leno would see us struggle.
Winning against Forest highlighted something from me yesterday, mostly how good we are. And, when considering the MOTM, it has only one real option, The Team. I'm enjoying being a proud FFC supporter.
A complete 90 minute performance. I was worried when Woods with their only real shot scored that we might have blown it again but 2nd half again Fulham took the game to them and if it wasn't for Sels in goal we would have got the score line the football deserved. Let's hope we can continue the consistency that can move us up the table in European contention.
A real Jekyll & Hyde season, after the Forest game comes the Palace game with no shots on goal. New Palace signing Rob Jones had a great game for them, just a shame for us he was the Referee. Let's hope our away form continues at Wolverhampton & Old Trafford.
I got to the Wolves game, and had a great evening with our fans, singing from start to finish. With 5 changes it was a little worrying, but, they all did their stuff, and achieved a great result. Sess and Muniz goals were brilliant to watch. We certainly kept the home fans quiet. Man U in the cup on Sunday, hopefully we have 11 on the pitch at the final whistle ......................... is Rob Jones starting for Man U?
Through to the next round after a penalty shoot out and at home to Palace. Not a great game at Old Trafford but had the chances to win it before the penalties.
The Tottenham game came alive around the 70th Minute when Silva brought on Muniz & Traore and that gave us more momentum. Ryan bought the romance back to Craven Cottage with a goal that reminded us of how he used to play and score for us in a previous life. International break gets in the way of the momentum and then we get to play Palace in the Cup. So let's hope we don't do a Villa & Wolves in previous after the break.
After 2 disappointing games against Palace and Arsenal Fulham bounced back against Liverpool. Thought we were in for a tough time after Liverpool scored first, but rallied to go into a deserved 3-1 HT lead. Muniz bullied VVD & Konate all game, Sessegnon stretched Robertson and Salah was seen thanks to blanket cover by Bassey & Robinson. A last nervous 10 minutes but Leno dealt with anything that got through.
Don't tell anyone, but Muniz is developing into an excellent centre forward. We have a great squad, with a brilliant manager. Let's just keep this under the radar..........
Back to disappointing against Chelsea, up until they scored the 1st we looked like we were going to get away with a poor 2nd half performance. Southampton brought us 3 points thanks to a late goal from that boy Sessegnon, not a bad signing. 4 left to play and needing just 3 points (51) to break our Premier points total (53) but all are going to be close scoring games.
Same old problem against Everton 1-0 controlling the game but failing to take our chances, let in a sloppy goal and then struggle to get any rhythm or co-ordinate any decent attacks. Can we at least please get to our record points tally in the next 2 games, so the season is not a bit of a damp squid.
It would be the least our current team deserve, having had a great season, mostly in the top half of the table. I'm glad I don't follow the big six sides, such as Spuds and Man U.
Got the points required to make me happy to have broken our most Points in the Premier, which is the least I think this team deserved after some of the football they have played. The Brentford game showed the inconsistency of our season. A poor first half after going 1-0 up, then a second half where the best of our passing game out foxed Brentford. Can Silva solve our problems for next season? We've had many games where we've had one good half and one poor half, that along with our ability to lose games from a winning positions have cost us points we shouldn't have dropped. On the other hand Fulham have the record of coming from behind (5 games) to win games. Silva's substitutions have worked in those game, but there have also been times where we've lost games when Silva's subs haven't work. But for me overall Fulham are in a better place and progressing nicely.
