Did you ever go to the Boleyn Ground / Upton Park? I never had the chance to go but from what I've heard it was the polar opposite.

Must be gutting for West Ham fans to go from one extreme to the other.

 

I went there in the 2011/12 season. Evening game under the lights and it was epic. One of my favourite away games I've done.

 

Yeah once, class little ground.

I mean new stadiums are never as good as the old anyway but they literally went from one of the best to by far the worst. Soul destroying.

Quickly running out of older grounds at larger stadia at least. Will be sad to see Goodison go.

 

Can’t imagine anyone in the current squad scoring a goal like that. Not just the technique but the willingness to bust a gut to be in the right place even.

 

Southampton have now suffered nine consecutive home defeats in the Premier League, with a combined score of 6-31.
God we are horrendous

On Saturday afternoon, I was thinking the same about any Welsh Saints fans

 

West Ham tickets on sale today.

 

I had a phone call from the club this morning which began with 'As a season ticket holder, you probably feel similar to me about this season and the way it's been going. I work in the club's hospitality team and we wanted to reach out...'

At this point, I thought they might be trying to make-good with the season ticket holders. I was wrong

'...and let you know that you and your Dad have both got £63 credit on your account. That credit is going to expire soon, so I wanted to know if you would consider using it to make up some of the difference for an upgrade to hospitality for one of our remaining home games. Would that be of interest to you?'

...no thanks, I think the £1,200 we spent on home games so far this season is quite enough, actually

The most awkward part of it all was when, in an attempt to pitch the upgrade to me, he said 'Might as well go down in style, right?' - I had to stop myself from laughing because I just felt a bit sorry for the poor lad who was being asked to ring season ticket holders and have these awkward calls

 

Should have told him that if they were struggling to shift the hospitality tickets,why not donate them to a local charity.

And yeah I really feel sorry for the people making the phone calls. Sure you were quite sound about it but imagine being the poor **** who rings @LincolnSaint

Has anyone bought one of the mystery boxes that are being sold? Just wondering if it would be worth getting? (Even though it will almost certainly be random over stocked stuff)

 

Clubs a ****ing joke

 

Everything about the club screams amateur at the moment. Just had this email:

"Earlier on today we notified you that you could purchase two additional tickets at a discounted price.

This unfortunately was a mistake and is not the case for this game. However, you may still purchase 2 additional tickets at the standard price from the link below during your exclusive period.

We apologise for any misunderstanding this may have caused."
