It'll all die down quite quickly …

… they know they can’t keep on about it as if they’ve just won the PL Title.

I thought I’d be more bothered but I’m not for some reason.

Think they'll keep it up until the bus parade sat 29th... feel sorry for any of our fans travelling from the north

You see I'm with Roy Keane on this one.
Open top bus parade, for what, we've won nothing yet.
A professional organisation would be underpaying this, saying such things as well done but now the hard work begins, next step Premier League.
I think their behaviour shows that they accept that they currently have little chance of winning the Premier League so we take what we can.

.... it won't be long though before it's next season and the media revel in ''Toon begin their defence of their cup''

Don’t you mean Look Newcastle and Newcastle Tonight surely?

the thing about “days since a trophy” is as hilarious as it is embarrassing. Think I might put a post in saying “number of major trophies in last 65 years” and they’ll have 1 and so will we. And so will Boro and Wigan! Just to put a bit of perspective on it for them!!

This is what I'm struggling to understand ...

... just because they've won a trophy it doesn't mean it isn't 70 years since the last one.

    https://www.change.org/p/save-leazes-park-from-saudi-super-stadium?redirect_reason=guest_user

"According to Newcastle City Council, there has been no discussion with Newcastle United Football Club, The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, Urban Green Newcastle or the Freemen of Newcastle about plans for a new football stadium on Leazes Park. Yet the mainstream media is awash stories of how a new stadium will be ‘built on Leazes Park’."

"Sacrificing the city's oldest public park - accessible to all - for a Saudi super stadium - accessible to few - without public consultation is scandalous."

One of my developers has come in in his Newcastle top and scarf. He says not to wind me up. As it happens it would’ve as I’m a touchy bugger :) but I am travelling back from Cambridge so not only did he miss his target he’s now been reminded of office attire regulations and the need to cover up if he upsets anyone. He’s backpedaling like Billy-o!

Its free to all but you need to register your interest............

please log in to view this image

Newcastle United will celebrate the club's historic Carabao Cup final victory with a free open-air event on Saturday, 29th March.

Set around a large main stage on the Town Moor, adjacent to the Great North Road, the open-air event will be free to attend. Supporters are asked to register their interest to assist with planning (details below).

It will feature a DJ, live band, 'Road to Wembley' highlights, a screening of the full cup final and special guests.

The team will then proudly lift the Carabao Cup on stage - presenting the club's first domestic trophy for 70 years to the city.

The celebrations will close with a spectacular show from club partner Sela and further event details will be published ahead of the show.

    Register your interest

Supporters must register their interest to attend at book.newcastleunited.com.

Phased priority period for fans to register interest:

Friday, 21st March, from 1pm - season ticket holders

    Friday, 21st March, from 3pm - Mags/Mags + Members

Saturday, 22nd March, from 10am - all other supporters

Once your priority period opens you will have the opportunity to register your interest until midnight on Sunday, 23rd March.

Registration is one per supporter number. Adults will be able to add one junior ticket to their registration with the adult supporter number.

Registrations must be submitted via book.newcastleunited.com. No email/telephone/in-person registrations can be accepted.

Registering your interest does not guarantee you access to the event. Further details will follow to those that register their interest with the club.

So basically you have to have a season ticket to go!

So after waiting 70 years, for a trophy, you can be excluded from attending the celebrations …

… and not even because you’re gay, like a pint or an unmarried woman having sex <doh>

And why keep saying it’s historic, everything in the past is historic. I wonder if there’ll be a bar or do Saudi rules apply. A parade through the streets, with all the pubs open, is the way to do it … this just looks a bit plastic and more sports washing by Sela, the state owned sponsor.
