He's not adequately qualified to sit on the board and discuss football matters. He's not even close. He's an administrator advising other administrators - that's utterly **** and is going to get us nowhere.
Jackson Pollock has dropped a couple of tabs of acid But enough about Brentford... So weird that you can look at our map and know which p[layer each colour is please log in to view this image
This is to see what spurs fans think compared to non spurs fans. Can a mod @Spurf @PleaseNotPoll @SpursDisciple please merge with the previous thread ? My view is still Ange in.
Passing the ball to a winger who's on the touchline with his back to goal? I wonder if he's going to give it back to a centre-half?
Out and I voted Ireola only on the basis that I cannot think of anyone else I would rather see at spurs. Ange simply isn’t up to scratch for the PL which is a shame because I was a strong advocate for bringing him in nearly 2 years ago. He was a proven winner elsewhere but unfortunately it’s a big step up to the PL and he’s too naive. There are simply no signs of progress since his initial 10 games unbeaten at the start of last season.
There's no point in sacking him now, in my opinion. Give him til the end of the season and then we'll probably all be on the same page. We'll also have a better idea of who's available and who isn't.
I want us to win the EL not just because it would be an amazing feeling to finally win a trophy but also because having CL football next year totally changes the conversation in terms of who we could attract to replace Ange and in the transfer market. My fear is that he will stay in charge if we win it and we will repeat the same mistake United made with Ten Hag in allowing one good performance to blind them to the overwhelming evidence of dozens of awful performances.
The interesting one for me is the right: you can figure out the yellow arrows are Johnson and the purple ones are Porro The really odd thing is just how many teams overload one flank, be it Bournemouth and Forest going utterly berserk down the left while Arsenal overload the right while the left is empty real estate
TBH at this point I'm wondering if the way Ange being hired was pitched as less for his tactical acumen, and more because Munn said that with Harry Kane leaving we needed somebody who could bring the players together rather than let their collective heads drop and see a potential death spiral Which basically makes this season the St Anger of Tottenham seasons
The space we allowed Bournemouth down their left at our place was ridiculous. Semenyo and Kluivert were in acres so often, yet they didn't exploit it that badly. Kerkez still murdered us, though. Not sure how our management team missed it...
I wouldn’t want him sacked today, but the moment Spurs are out of the Europa league then it’s time for him to be relieved. Stick Mason in for the rest of the season as usual and then start the process of looking for a new manager to start in the summer unless they’re going for somebody out of work who would want to start immediately
I’ve voted Out but not sure who I’d want as a replacement. I think any of the suggested would be an improvement but not sure if they’re good enough to take Spurs back into the CL and/or win a trophy
He should be gone already and I still see value in getting rid at this late stage. His team is less than the individual parts should be able to create, significantly less. Who we appoint to replace him? **** alone knows. Whilst ENIC are in charge, whoever it is will be sold short and have to try to succeed in spite of the owners, not in tandem with them. Hopefully, they employ someone who can motivate and coach, improve players and allow the supporters to believe again... ...increasingly, Poch's return looks inevitable.
I'm hanging in there for Ange but cannot see him surviving the close season regardless if we win the Europa cup , no to Ireola just because he looks like a young Tom Conti , can't see anyone coming in at this point of the season but if he goes then Inzagi from Inter would be interesting I'm no to Poch returning , if we did not have our love affair with him would we still want him on results from his year with us in the league or from his time at PSG and the Chavs The Enic ownership is still a worry to me but who can we get to buy us out , before Radcliffe went to utd I would have accepted him but looking at the way things are going there I'm not sorry we missed out on him
Worth noting the Reddit arm of the fanbase seems to be gravitating towards Stuttgart's Seb Hoeness While they are underperforming this season, as their CL participation is clearly hitting their league form, one thing that does jump out is how adaptable he is: his standard formation in the Bundesliga is a 442 similar to Roberto De Zerbi's, though in the CL he has them playing 4231 - and he also has a Conte-esque 3421 in his locker that he's used this season as well I think the key aspects that make him stand out, other than Reddit's perma-boner for the Bundesliga, comes from the following - His teams press like hell and set up with a mid block, which is reminiscent of early Poch (although De Zerbi's Brighton are another useful comparison) - His teams create a lot of chances, but crucially from multiple areas so one minute the opponents are defending against crosses from the wide players, the next through balls through the middle, and also has players looking to break into the box - which is wildly different to how Ange overuse the low risk/high percentage doctrine to drill crosses across the goalmouth even though opponents sussed that out around December - He likes to overload the wide areas with underlaps, but has midfielders breaking forwards as opposed to Ange having the FBs cut in, so the promise there is having Maddison or Bergvall on the overlap Though if I'm honest, there's surely a Bundesliga manager with similar tactical setup who would cost a fraction of the price to do the exact same job, who Brighton and/or Dortmund already have a dossier on
In, for now. Daniel needs to learn how to follow through. Him doing that with Ange would be one of the very few positives about this chapter. Brining Mason in as cover at this point shows us up as a joke of a club, unless he does really well, which he won't with these players. I'd give Ange one more throw of the dice with another transfer window. Balance the squad with some powerful signings. Start throwing this money around the actual premier league a bit more. What is the point of having the money if we don't attempt these things? Sign a Guehi, a Gibbs-White or an Eze, and maybe a Wharton or similar more experienced CM/DM option. For a real bumper window, if Bayern win the Champions League, go in for Kane's return. We know he wants the premier league goal scoring record. Lose the under performers necessary to allow for the incoming reinforcements. If anything like that happens in the window, there can be absolutely no excuses for Ange or any manager. We will know without a shadow of a doubt that the squad is good enough to both entertain, and produce. No square pegs in round holes. No lack of cover for key positions. If Ange can't cook convincingly with these kind of options it'll be very obvious, even to him, that he's out of his depth, plus we'll be extremely attractive to whomever we chose to manage next.
