That's a touch harsh on Rover, he's more of a Grandpa Munster. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Yes, a poster on here whose daughter was hit on the head and needed treatment can confirm how family friendly it is.
Not really. Could have the same bet if we’re playing Sheffield Utd, Leeds, Sunderland, Coventry or even Norwich away. A rugby league derby at the MKM has never sold out yet.
The reason there is a 23,500 capacity is because there is unreserved seating in some areas so there has to be a 10% reduction in those areas. Don’t think they have ever actually reached the full 23,500. Edit, just looked it up and found this. “the highest attendance for a Hull F.C. game at the MKM Stadium was on 2 September 2007, when Hull K.R. thrashed the home side 42–6 in front of 23,004 spectators.”
Yes? That shows an attendance 2 lower than the one I quoted as the highest. At no time has there been a capacity crowd of 23,500.
Well obvs that's what the local plod set the allowed attendance at because they may have anticipated trouble which has on occasions happened .
Don't let a little thing like the truth and facts and figures get in the way of the myth that Hull is a rugby town. Like all the biggest crowds in this city have all been for football and at Boothferry Park for games involving Hull City ( who have never won anything). Let them have their little moment of glory and let them all enjoy thinking they are as big as Man u td v Man City or Liverpool v Everton, when the reality is the derby is more like Torquay v Exeter.
The plod don’t set it at 23,500 because of trouble. It has been that number from the day the stadium opened so there can’t have been any previous trouble. It is because, as I wrote in an earlier post, for league matches they have unreserved seating in some areas and you have to reduce capacity by 10% for those areas. Maybe they will have no unreserved seating for the Cup so could go up to 25,000. But they won’t get that many.
That's a massive, headline making, attendance. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
That for rugby is a packed stadium, For football a worryingly empty one with swathes of empty seats. According to the HDM anyway. Think they will crack 20,000. And if there is any trouble it will be blamed on City fans who didn’t go to Sheffield.
the average home attendance for Rovers and for Hull are well over 20k in total - ie more than City at the moment - I don't understand why some people try and belittle it - live and let live
The average crowd at City is by far the largest of the 3 Hull teams. But you wouldn’t think it by the HDM space allocated to the. 3 teams on its main page.
At the moment. They're both doing quite well by their standards. Hull will always support teams that are doing well, less so when they're not. If all three are doing well at the same time that would be a fair comparison.
