16:30 Ludlow - Porter In The Park Class-4 Handicap Hurdle over an extended 2m5f on good ground. Walk In The Park mare has a decent chance in this event, as she should be suited by prevailing track conditions, and has pretty decent form too. Jonathan Burke rides for the Emma Lavelle yard. 13/2 (Coral) best price on the ATR site, at time of writing.
Have watched a couple of races from Chepstow today and 2 horses (Macfin and Fashions Model) have gone wrong galloping on the home straight. Looked awful for both sadly. Tough sport.
In the home straight again? It could be just a dreadful coincidence but would the folks running the show be checking the ground in the home straight. Other than the commentary at the time ATR didnt give either incident any attention. I could have missed it as I gave up after the second incident but I do think ITV’s stance of facing up to horse injuries is the better option. Shows folk in the industry do care.
Won at 11/2 SP. In a very tight finish the mare just prevailed by a head with a a really gutsy performance. Fine ride by Jonathan Burke for the Emma Lavelle stable, and a nice touch for Owners Andrew Gemmell & Richard Lavelle.
