Gulasci is a very different keeper from the one who had the nightmare at Leeds. Just growing in confidence and the back four now trusting him.

That was by far his best game for us, it seems the back four are starting to trust him a bit more and he made good decisions tonight, long may it continue.

Maybe a run in the team has helped rebuild his confidence after that Leeds game. Plus more first team experience will surely help build and understanding between him and the defence. I was critical of him earlier in the season but i'm happy to see him doing well and improving.

Always nice to see a young lad turn things around, also Corry Evans is getting much better by the match

Thought Corry Evans was excellent tonight.

McKenna, again, being the general in midfield.

    Koren...class.

Very impressive result, Birmingham are a good side but I think we definitely deserved it. We were brighter and more incisive on the whole.

Couldn't have out it better myself.

Pulled off three or four top class saves, the one in the first half from a corner, near post was superb.

I'm really pleased for the lad.

I thought everyone had a good game tonight, including Dawson, but I'd have been tempted to put Dudgeon on for him when he was starting to hang off the opposition players. <laugh>

When he tried the John Terry style salmon dive to try and tackle Burke i thought it was time to swap him with Dudge. Nick showed faith with sticking Dudge on ahead of him though despite what happened against Burnley, fair play to that decision since it worked!

I thought he was going to ankle tap him ala George Fairburn and was fully expecting a penalty to be given away.

Everyone played well tonight, Koren's pass for the second goal was a thing of beauty. Also Gulacsi's save in the second half from King's shot was very good. It was bouncing all over the place but he held onto it very well.

    The ref was ****e though.

****ing loved that, was pissing myself for a minute or two after, if it came off it would have been the best thing I'd ever seen Dawson do, and possibly the best tackle I'd ever seen.

Thinking of something similar, can anyone remember Bernard Mendys super Jet Li-esque flying headbutt which completely missed the ball and was totally unnecessary? That one brought a tear to my eye despite the resulting goal we conceded, was worth it to witness that <laugh>

As always <laugh> first half I thought we might have a decent one, but the way both teams had a separate rulebook regarding arm pulling ruined it for him! Glad he didn't affect the outcome of the game though <ok>

Against Stoke when Etherington had a clear run in on goal after crazy B's rush of blood.

That was child's play compared to the time Richard Garcia faced in an own goal against Everton I believe.
Just hit him straight in the boat race and nestled in the back of our net, made no attempt what so ever to get out of the way.

    Pure comedy gold.

If we'd not won I'd be going to town on him now. He was really very bad indeed. What the hell was Dawson booked for, that was even more innocuous than the other ones I've been moaning about lately. He let their defence do what they wanted to Fryatt and McLean and their fullback sliced Stewart in two under the linesman's nose and he completely ingored it. Also in the very last minute when Rosenior was holding it in the corner he got chopped to the the floor by their defender and the lino gave a free kick the other way, god knows what for. He had no authority and didn't help his linos at all. Now I actually have gone to town on him, well done Bob.

I always thought that Garcia one was treat unfairly by the fans. He was trying to block it on the line and if he got out of the way it would have gone straight in. The Mendy one brings back memories mind, he was really talented but just had those rushes of blood now and then.

couldnt believe that in the last minute either, worst thing is tho it was always going to happen, it always does its a cop out....to be fair im not a fan of that keep it in the corner lark, it never works for longer then about ten seconds, unless youve got okocha balancing it on his foot for a minute <laugh>...
i always think your better of just smashing the ball into row z, ends up wasting just as much time and theres always half a chance youl mis-hit it into the top corner..

I agree with a few on here to say that tonight was Gulasci's best game in a City Shirt.... BUT....

I still prefer Basso, reason been, Basso is OUR player not loanee who could piss off back to Liverpool at any time causing disruption to the back 4/5.

Basso is more experienced and I feel the better Keeper who instills confidence in the defenders more so than Gulasci.

My other problem with Gulasci is... HE IS ROOTED TO HIS LINE !!!

When have you ever seen him come and collect a ball into the box from a corner?

Must say though, awesome match winning save from that header late on in 2nd half !!!
