Some people do have a drink but many are children, drive to the ground, etc so don't.

Some wouldn't give up their 'usual pub' so they're out as well.

But this isn't a discussion about increasing the amount of people on the concourses, drinking beer ...

... it's always unbearably crowded so I'm not sure getting more in would work.

This is about a small space where a tiny minority can enjoy the day in their own way.

If the club are catering for a different kind of supporter, to me and you, that's fine imo.

Duplicating Sheepfolds/Wheatsheaf/Colliery, a few minutes away, would be a bit daft and wouldn't benefit the club imo.

    I really don't see a problem tbh.

    Interesting posts tonight.

Every penny off the field make help on the field. Let's nor forget psr rules of 70% wages to turnover.

It might not suit everyone, it might be expensive but at least they are trying.

As usual Constructive criticism and suggestions should be welcomed

Where is your ticket located this season, and how much do you pay? I'm in the East Stand, halfway line, £580

Can’t really see what all the fuss is about, the club are just operating the facilities like the pubs around the town. I’m usually found in the pubs that are like me, cheap and cheerful, but many people prefer to pay double to go to more ‘select’ pubs. Everyone’s different and the club is right to cater for all needs. If people want to pay silly money, then the club should be ready to take their money, it’s how any successful business should operate.

One of the contributing factors is the design of the ground because the concourses are too small and end up crammed every match day ,if they were larger the space could have been utilised so much better providing seating and tables to improve the pre match experience compared to the scrum to get in to the ground or get to the bars or toilets . Altering the situation would be difficult though not impossible and I am sure that architects may be able to come up with a solution.

It’ll either work or it won’t.

if it’s a great success then the complaints were pointless …

… if not they’ll adapt it or change it.

We have to realise we don’t all want the same thing from a match. People bringing guests, staying at the Hilton, etc, may want to be guaranteed a seat/meal/drink without a scrum.

Whatever the case it’s just another option for a relatively small number of people …

… it’s not for me but I don’t expect the club to design everything around me.

    it’s all just teething problems

they’ll not get it right first time and the stadium and offering will evolve over time

yes we have corporate section etc but for the most part it’s a concrete stand with the ability to buy a pint and bovril inside

despite the outrage tickets are cheap and when everything in life, in the uk is going up annually 5/10/15% it’s poor to single out football, yes it’s more money in their coffers but their costs have gone up to.

this wouldn’t be an issue if wages matched inflation and if we hadn’t had wage stagnation since 1997, we wouldn’t be complaining, but that’s a topic for another day

end of the day, we won’t get a new stadium and we don’t really need one but we need modernisation and this is the first step.

Someone showed me a list of supposed player salaries. Think it was on a fan site but not sure. It had Dan Neil on about £1.5k a week and Dan Ballard on £25k a week!!! Surely bollocks. Anyone got any ideas on what a standard salary at our club is? Forget the loan players. Surely it cant be as wide as above?

That's from Capology. Claims to be real data but its almost certain to be just made up. Not a chance in hell that Dan Neil is only on 1.5k. He last extended his contract in the playoff run under Mowbray. Complete and utter bollocks that he did so at £1.5k a week. Notable that capology run a subscription model to get to the 'good data'. What a fantastic moneymaking scheme. All they have to do is ctrl c ctrl v info out of an old version of FM and they're quids in!

I couldn’t care less what players are earning tbh …

… out of my control and, really, none of my business.

As you’ve both said it’s little but rumours and agents playing games which helps no one. With a dozen games left the focus should be entirely on promotion. We have a good chance of playoffs, Wembley and the Premier League …

… at which point all the wages will change anyway.

High earner here bar loanees is 18k

Pails obviously in comparison to relegated prem sides and a good few arguably badly run come overly ambitious sides who splash cash a bit recklessly

Sensibly ran and pound for pound probably out performing 90% of the league on pound for point or whatever metric you like

Despite what mere mortals think there’s a distinct difference between 18k and 40k a week, whilst both undoubtably offer great quality of life the latter is akin to winning a golden ticket over a 3 year contract and don’t despise any player with ability or potential looking to move somewhere to secure that future.

players will pass through the club on their journey whilst the club is on their journey

Many a player will go the whole way with us and many won’t, that’s football, but it’s important everyone plays their part.

For us it’s about incremental gains, improving year and year and getting to the big time and the financial benefits that that offers.

£18k feels about right I think for our best players. When you think about their earning potential at premier league level it makes me a bit nervous. But that is the current world we live in sadly. Money talks in football.

The only not very important thing with what we pay as wages to players and staff is that its under or compliant with PSR rules and isn't the absolutely mental standard practice of most clubs of being 100% plus percent of turnover.

We will be getting to Wembley with a squad being paid decent money and the incentive of being paid better money when we win the Play Offs

I am quite interested, personally, in the level of difference between what players earn. It isnt easy to keep folk consistent, but necessary over the long term.
