Would have grabbed 4th place if you'd asked me last summer, we need to lose to WBA and Bristol C to stop Coventry getting in the play offs, there is always one team that puts a great run together, if they finish 6th though thats not too bad.
Those complaining about players leaving if we dont go up appear to have forgotten that we would be well compensated for this to happen - we would then invest in more players and the cycle begins again. If we lost the likes of Cirkin, Jobe, Rigg (not even sure he would go) or Hume we'd have thick end of 70-80m to reinvest. We may even attempt to make Le Fee permanent with the funds we'd get from Jobe and Neil leaving. Add in some of the better prospects that could be coming up from the youth side we might even be in a better position next season. Its not an immediate doom and gloom if we dont go up as some are predicting (not necessarily on here mind you - twitter and facebook seem to think the world ends if we sell Jobe and Rigg)
If players leave, whatever the fee, it’s offset by the quality and fee and the new thing, availability to play, for whoever we sign.
I suppose the Watson transfer has started this process albeit a bit early. Weakish rumours now coming through about Ballard to Sheff Utd, Rigg and Bellingham going to virtually every club in the top flight and Europe. Dan Neil to Liverpool and Hume to Everton. Even heard a snippet about Cirkin to Leeds. .... Gonna be a big test for the Owners to sort this out..but I have every faith they will do the right thing. I still believe we are in good hands
I think there will probably be offers in for all those mentioned, however due to the length of most of the contracts we can decide who, how many, and how much. I don't think it would be all of them, more a case of looking at highest profit etc. I do think the club are savy enough though to keep someone like jobe if they think he's going to demand an even higher fee next summer, unless he's pushing for the move
