Good Morning. It's Wednesday 19th March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Ampadu decision reeks of desperation Ethan Ampadu is patched up, and ready to go back out to war for Leeds Utd. The versatile midfielder has missed the last five games with a cartilage problem (left knee) that he picked up in training after the Sunderland game. Such is his importance to the team, instead of undergoing surgery, his arthroscopy has been postponed until the summer, allowing the Thorp Arch medical team to patch him up as best they can and wheel him onto the pitch. This decision reeks of desperation, and it's clear that Leeds are willing to gamble with Ampadu's health to salvage their season. The squad have struggled in his absence, managing 8 points out of a possible 15. Many will look back to their failure to strengthen in January, which has left them in a precarious position. This decision is reckless, it’s short-sighted, and frankly, it’s an insult to both the player and the fans. This isn’t brave; it’s blatant mismanagement disguised as some sort of heroic effort. please log in to view this image Joseph's outburst a cause for concern The final whistle had barely blown at QPR, but the tension was already palpable. In a shocking display of anger, unused substitute Mateo Joseph erupted into a frenzy, leaving his teammates and coaches scrambling to calm him down. The incident, reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, has left many wondering what sparked such a volatile reaction from the young Spaniard. Joseph's emotions got the better of him on this occasion, requiring the intervention of captain Ampadu to prevent the situation from escalating further. Ampadu, a seasoned player, quickly stepped in to pacify Joseph, before having a word with Pascak Struijk, presumably to diffuse any remaining tension. What's striking is that Joseph's outburst was not an isolated incident. The frustration was palpable across the Leeds squad, with Manor Solomon visibly upset at being substituted. It's clear that the team is feeling the pressure, and the emotions are running high. Joseph's anger, in particular, is a cause for concern, as it's only the second time this season that he's remained an unused substitute. The feeling of being left out must have been simmering beneath the surface, waiting to boil over. please log in to view this image
Morning all We need promotion and then loan Joseph out, no use him getting angry, he isn’t good enough. Ampadu returning, has it been officially reported that he has been patched up and will still have surgery, I read the gamble was to allow him to heal naturally and he has
I would have loves to see Adam Armstrong come in, that way we could have sent Joseph out on loan to get some experience...
soloman was the only one who had the right to be angry ....Matteo needs to get in some serious shooting practice before presumably ranting about game time, he'd be better venting his spleen on the onion bag
Interesting suggestion, but the Jimmy Saville songs are bad enough. " This decision is reckless, it’s short-sighted, and frankly, it’s an insult to both the player and the fans. This isn’t brave; it’s blatant mismanagement disguised as some sort of heroic effort." get off the fence Matt
But he has scored 2 goals in 8 games for WBA since joining them on loan, Piroe has 15 in 34 - If we had offered to sign him to sit on our bench I am sure his club and the player would have said no. Loans in January want guaranteed game time
Ellandbacks breakfast debate article has made the NewsNow pages for the MOT Forum - officially a clickbait journalist now
I realise that Matt, may have been on another fishing expedition with this morning’s thread, however I don’t have a problem with their decision to await surgery, provided it doesn’t get to bite us in the arsenals. I do think we need his steadying in game influence at the moment. As Emu has said previously there have been signs of nervousness over the period he’s been out. It’s difficult for me to judge whether the same is happening (signs of fear) at Turf Moor or Bramall Lane as I don’t watch their matches. Hopefully our next home game will help ease nerves in the squad and for those of us watching. As I sat 4 days post op(knee replacement) watching Saturday’s game on the box, if you take out the 2 massively gifted goals we gave them - we didn’t play that badly in what is always a tough fixture. I do think our players are under far more pressure than the other 2 squads. Let’s face it many in the media were announcing our promotion after the Sheffield United game, so the expectation is out there for all to see. Haven’t heard anyone other than their fans, saying it for the other 2. Btw Elland, I’m sure yesterday was Tuesday 18th March, either that or I had my 70th a day too early .
only a matter of time before the scent of all that chum in the water was picked up by the circling sharks
We've no idea what happened with Joseph as I also noticed something happening when taking my photos at the end of the game. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Morning all very worried about our chances without a fit Ampadu. Our defence is average when he's not in the team. We wheeled out an unfit Rutter for vital part of last season and he was no addition. Re Josephs and Solomon's carry on. We need to remember a lot of these lsds are little more than kids and in my book can be excused for blowing of steam occasionally
Play Gruev and Tanaka in the away games. They can both drop back to collect the ball from the defence quite comfortably, and Gruev is good enough to protect the defence if we are piling forward. Bring Rothwell on if we are chasing the game and need to change it up. Play Tanaka and Rothwell in home games. We need Rothwells ability to carry the ball forward to break up the tippy tappy passes that we play when facing a low block defence. Bring Gruev on if we are comfortable or need to protect a lead in place of Rothwell. If any game has gone completely Pete Tong, then we go to a 2-1-7 formation, simples
