Not ideal if all three leave, but on the bright side, it'll relieve the inevitable pressure of succeeding after securing a title.
Slot has done a good job this season. If he does well again next season and proves he's not a one hit wonder, that would strongly cement him in the Liverpool legend. I'm more nervous about transfers than Slot's abilities however. Recent transfers haven't filled me with confidence. Chiesa. Marmar (not bashing him, I'm sure he's a good keeper... Just question the wisdom trying to replace the best keeper in the world when he still has years on the clock). Then there was the summer of everyone going to Chelsea. Not so annoyed we lost out on the transfers as they both turned out to be crap. I'm annoyed how much we were willing to pay for crap. Who was our last big signing? Nunez? He's actually a pretty good player in my book... But we're using him wrong because he doesn't exactly fit our squad. My confidence in the scouting/transfer teams is lower than my confidence in Slot.
TBF, Coceido (sp) as been very good this season and I think we were just playing mind games with them. Remember, we got Zobo, Macca, Endo and Gravenberch that window too
I don’t think he’s a replacement for Alisson. He’s a replacement for Kelleher in the short term with replacing Alisson in 2 years time imo. Given the uproar with the Salah/vvs/TAA and even the Konate and Diaz stuff not sure can loan that we’ve future planned out gk situation.
This. If Kelleher was a couple of years younger and willing to wait I think we'd keep him but he understandably wants first team football.
I don't think Slot has as much control over transfers as Klopp did. Get the feeling Slot was brought in to be a Head Coach, rather than a traditional manager. So who we should be worried about is Hughes. Honestly don't know much about his work with Bournemouth, who is he responsible for buying for them? Rumours are that we have £200+ million to spend this summer, so we better hope he knows how to spend it.
Where will £200 million go if Trent/VVD and Salah leave. Three world class players gone for no fee. What kind of management is that? I know Salah and VVD are getting on a bit, but Trent on a free transfer, really? If Trent would not sign a contract last Summer, the writing was on the wall. He could have been sold for a good price. I think their demolition club has really screwed up on the contract front
Oh and Pep spent £200 million in January as an afterthought when results were not going well. That is what we are up against.
What do people think about Osimhen. Been smashing them in Turkey, 20 in 22, and I can't see Napoli getting the money they wanted last few transfer windows, what with him basically saying he wants to leave, shipped out on loan and his contract expiring next summer.
It is indeed. We've had to be almost perfect in the league to get past city and managed it only once. We lost out to the other 2 oil clubs in the space of a week and are expected to applaud them. I don't know enough about PSG to comment but city and Newcastle would be nowhere near any trophies if they had done it like most of the rest of us have by building from the ground up instead of instant massive cash injections. We have a heated rivalry with utd but like us, they built up to their success and I can respect that even if I don't respect anything else about them
I don't know much about him but if he's as good as the stat you mentioned then I will say yes please.
Id take a league title and losing him on a free if we do that this year then selling him for £50m and getting 4th
Kerkez prob the most high profile success and one we are obviously linked to. Zabarnyi alongside him at CB been very good. Semenyo been getting lot of headlines and although dropped off a bit 2nd half of year was brilliant first half and still been very good. Picked up from lower leagues Kluivert, Ake, Solanke 3 that were fringe players at other clubs but turned them into very good prem players. So he has had lots of success but obviously different measure of what success is and budgets when comes to Bournemouth and lfc so
Yes, but there's so much speculation, so many what ifs, when we can't know what the future will bring - and if there's nothing you can do to influence it then there's no point in constantly chewing it over. None of the things that people fret over might happen, or all of them might, or most likely some will and some won't. I'm an armchair fan these days, I watch the football that's all - I don't bother trying to work my way through all of the possible permutations or run the club from home. Before the season started there were those going through all the possibilities and I think I can safely say nobody had us 12 points clear at this stage. All guesses for next season could be just as inaccurate. I'll just wait and see what happens, and if it all goes wrong then I'll complain. I always remember a saying from my youth - "don't cry before you're hurt".
You know from my posting history that I'm in the wait and see camp with you. It doesn't mean that I don't have concerns, I just prefer not to express them - most of the time.
agreed. Understandably, lots of speculation and assumptions being made about just about everything.but very few known facts about the clubs or the players stance. Speculation I get but I don’t like the club being slated for not doing this or that when we don’t know what the this and that entails. Crazy.
