What was the point of spending millions on Seagrave? finding good young talent, just to be poached by the so called glamour clubs for next to nothing! Should have invested the money on the King Power ground improvement, and stayed at our old training ground (it was good enough to win the premier league) also Rogers should have walked or been sacked when we failed to finish in top four for two seasons when it was there for the taking! instead of giving him a bigger contract when Arsenal wanted him, god i wished he had gone! and don't say that he won us the FA cup, it was a wonder goal and VAR that won us the cup.
A bit more solid defensively yesterday at least, but there’s still little creativity further up the pitch. Mavididi and Buonanotte are only getting a few token minutes at the end of the game with no chance to make an impact. Being a striker you’d think Ruud would have some idea about the final third of the pitch but each game it seems to be the same old routine with no idea coming through the midfield. Games are running out now, all it takes is for Wolves to beat Southampton this weekend and that will be that.
What is the point of having Acadamy's, if the big clubs just take the cream every time, then sell on for millions. Make it so they can't move Acadamy's until they are 18, then at least you could have them sign a pro contract and then you would see some return.
My take is that any player ‘poached’, should have a 50% sell on clause in their contract with their new club. That way if they have taken a world class player then the players first club are compensated fairly.
Thats pretty much it. We may pick up the odd point and must strive to stay ahead of Southampton but surely, it's all about planning for next season already.
A very frustrating watch. There is certainly more energy and intent throughout the team and some nice interplay, but it all leads to nothing. We either end up giving the ball away and conceding or we have to slow things down and play sideways and backwards because we don't have players who can take defenders on or make the right moves into space. Playing Daka with Vardy has never worked. He looked totally lost and his closing down from the front was poor. Time for him to go in the summer. Can't believe Ruud didn't bring De Cordova-Reid on to rescue the match.
Vardy is now at the stage in his career where he'd probably benefit playing with a Leonard Ulloa type of strike partner ... but it's surely time to give youth a chance ...
The fact that Van Nistelrooy hasn’t been sacked yet seems that he’ll be in charge next season. No one with that lose ratio would keep their job if they weren’t in the plans for next year. Not sure I’m all that keen on that!
Matt Piper was bang on when he said last night on Radio Leicester about playing 3 or 4 of the under 21's/fringe players who will be here next season. Give them the final 9 games, if we get beat 4-0, so what? it's already happening with the experienced players. Plan for next season, decide which players are staying and bin the rest off for the remainder of the season...put them on gardening leave! Hermansen will be going Chelsea (nailed on) so play Stolarczyk as he will/should be number 1 next season in the Championship.
