Ipswich very well, absolute championship super team and will make good money on Hutchinson delap and maybe Davis, Leicester will be up there Southampton feel like a club that’s rotten to me, I know you have more of an insight into them than me though but I can see them struggling
Makes me think if we do go up is it worth just saying sod it and not actually care about FFP. Let's say we do that and manage to stay up the worst thing that happens is you get a 10 point penalty (a la Everton last season) in a few years time by which point you have established yourself in the premiership and ultimately just have to be 10 points better than the 3 coming up which going off the last couple of seasons shouldn't be hard.
I can just about handle the fans gushing over it. Its the media thats sickening. Not one of them dare mention the state owned situation. In a way, i dont blame them. Anyone raising their concerns would receive an instant invite to the Saudi Embassy Ball. But to bend over for them? I mean.....'State Owned Team Win Cup Shocker!!!' For Newcastle fans who can bury their heads in the sand? Thats great! But for the rest of us? ZZZZZZzzzzzz. There are female old schoolfriends on my facebook page celebrating the fact that their clubs success has been bought by a bunch of folk who see them as second class citizens. I cant get my head around it. But like i say, they must bury theirs in the sand. Success at any price.
2 of them yeah. The play offs are a lottery though, and there may be clubs in there with previous parachutes still going on!!
Glad I’m not in the north east right now. Got a voicemail off my mate who’s been to about 5 matches in his life, absolutely mortal drunk saying it’s the best day of his life. £400m to win a league cup and they’ll be ****ing insufferable for months to come.
Plastics everywhere. I don't have too many ill feelings towards those who go every week - if they are happy selling the soul of the club for a couple of low level pots and pans then so be it. Wouldn't be for me, but to each their own. These ****ing plastics who've never been to a game can **** the **** off with their fawning
£600m thank you!! It’s also the cup Which, when we made the final was a Mickey Mouse cup, when they got beat off Man Utd was a Mickey Mouse cup, but this season is bigger than the FA Cup.
Sharp crawled out of the woodwork last few years mate. Heard **** all out of them for years and now they think they’re part of the elite. Was a Mickey Mouse cup when we got to the final but now it’s the most prestigious trophy in English football. Walking around World Trade Centre and ground zero this morning experiencing the harrowing accounts of 9/11 in the memorial, reading the story of al qaedas rise etc and in the back of my mind all I could think was.. we allowed them to worm their way into English football and buy a football club.
Future Ballon D’or winner. Only player I can remember being as good as him at 17 was Messi. Not that I’m saying he’ll be anywhere near that level mind because Messi is the best that’s ever played in my opinion, but just perspective of how good Yamal can be.
Just checked to see how Saint Etienne got on and a few other teams we have loan players at. The match was abandoned today… https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/cqjdg8q8jgzt Montpellier v Saint-Etienne abandoned after fan trouble The Ligue 1 match between relegation rivals Montpellier and Saint-Etienne was abandoned after home fans threw flares on to the pitch and part of a stand caught fire. Hosts Montpellier were trailing 2-0 when Sunday's game was stopped in the 62nd minute after Saint-Etienne striker Lucas Stassin scored his second goal of the game. Referee Francois Letexier paused the match for three minutes when flares were thrown on the pitch but players were taken off the field shortly after when smoke and flames could be seen in the stand at Stade de la Mosson. The game was abandoned following a 20-minute suspension. Montpellier supporter behaviour caused a match to be abandoned in October 2023 when Clermont goalkeeper Mory Diaw was stunned by a firework that exploded next to him after being thrown from the stands. Montpellier are bottom of Ligue 1 and eight points from safety, with Saint-Etienne one place and five points better off.
Blanket coverage of the Saudis Wembley win on the radio this morning. I hope it’s not going to be like this every 70 years.
Agreed. Although I think Cristiano Ronaldo is the best ever, (but still know that mess I, imo a very close second!) Yamal just looks unbelievable! Fantastic footballer
