I have all the time in the world for the mags I know who go week in week out but fully agree with some on here about the plastics. I know some who are out today in their relatives shirt who wouldn’t open the curtains if they were playing a league game in their garden! They are the unbearable ones. And Durham mags, worst of the lot.
To be fair every mag I know either attends 1 or 2 games a season or gave up there season ticket during the Ashley years as they were so sh1t and being ran for profit. My response to that is I kept my season ticket during multiple relegations and 4 seasons in League one. Of course the last few years these "supporters" are the clubs greatest fans and a few went down to London with no intention of going to the game to simply experience the atmosphere. Ultimately every one of those will be insufferable for the next few weeks so I guess I'll just keep my head down and try to not let them wind me up. All clubs have plastic fans but some of these guys take the biscuit.
That's where I grew up so I know exactly the type you will be on about. There fans who stuck with them through thick and thin absolutely deserve to celebrate this like many thousand Sunderland fans would but the ****ers who never normally care about football are unfortunately the ones that will make this unbearable celebrating wildly for days on end probably having no idea what they are actually celebrating.
Exactly Ffs we suffered 4 years in Division 2 we can come through anything Remember Sunderland til I die
Yeah won’t begrudge genuine fans at all, still can’t stand them like but it’s the plastics that really irritate me, that being said I’m sat on Rightmove as we speak trying to convince Cramlington’s biggest fan that moving back to Jarrow is a good idea
Haha good luck Cramlington is a decent place to live but for me anyway was just getting too big I prefer a bit more peace and quiet. Oh and there's so many roundabouts.
Second goal for Man Utd ruled out (correctly) for offside, but Leicester are ****ing shocking at the back.
All the mags I know can’t get tickets now because they “boycotted” under Ashley. Leicester look ****e mind, bottom 3 sorted with 8 games left
If it wasn't for Forest I'd be seriously concerned about going up tbh ... ... these three are miles away from PL standard.
Scary thing is it could be worse next year, sheff United and Burnley would be no better than those up there, Leeds you can argue a case for but still need massive amounts of investment (this is assuming we don’t go up cos naturally well finished 7th ala the Peter Reid days) I’ve had a few
Canny game this morning.... Sunderland West End (reds) v The New Derby (yellow) at Thompson Park. Very competitive match, ended 1-1. No 7 (I think) for the new Derby scored a screamer from about 25yrds into the bottom corner.
Sky Sports will be raging. They'll just have to massively overhype the race for the Champions League instead
