Surely a reduction would be advertised by the player and his agent...highlighting he would be keen to get back training asap?
Best we can hope for is that the ban gets halved to 8 months with time served and he’s available in early July. He won’t be back this season.
That’s decent to be fair. Allows for rest and rotation. You’ve also got Crooks and Omur to consider as the 10 (or Pedro) young Tinsdale, and Rocco Coyle. Plus the inevitable midfield purchase of an Acun transfer window.
For me we have had such bad luck with injuries etc that maybe, just maybe, it will even itself out with a positive outcome for Zambrano. Personally I think there’s a cat in hell’s chance he’ll play this season but in my opinion and it’s just a feeling in my water, may/june. Mind you when your in your 60s a feeling in your water is an everyday event…
Id rather we cut Omur loose and spend wages on Gelhardt for the 10 role with Crooks as back up. I’d also like Lincoln back to help bridge the gap before Millar and Belloumi return. With Kamara and hopefully Barry secured on loan, then I think we’d be covered out wide.
We might do, it'll depend on whether there are any takers for him. I'd much rather have Gelhardt that's for sure, even if it's just another season long loan with an option at the end. I just worry that his form will attract the attentions of clubs that can and will pay more. Southampton, for example. Or Ipswich, they like to nick our players.
I've seldom, if ever, seen a loanee with such enthusiasm, for the club, team mates and 'project'. Maybe its the fact that he's trusted to play and being shown the love other clubs haven't shown. I would guess Geldhart himself will be pushing for the transfer.
