****ing hell an insane result in Cardiff. England really punished a genuinely pathetic Wales. You can only beat what’s in front of you and other cliches. Commiserations @Taffvalerowdy
I missed most of the first half as I was travelling home from watching the Swans play (lose to) Burnley. I sat through the second half and frankly wasn’t that surprised. It was a chastening experience but one that is largely the end result of 20 years of ineptitude by the WRU in failing to invest properly in the game in Wales. I remember one telecom in particular that I had with Steve Phillips when he was FD of the WRU - my wife was in the car with me and she just couldn’t believe the negativity of the guy and how unhelpful he was towards the Region(s). In my opinion, the Senior Management Team at the WRU thought that they could ride roughshod over the Regions and keep them on a short leash financially: they failed to realise the interdependencies involved in helping to create a sustainably strong pathway from schools all the way through to the National Side.
Continue like this and kids won’t take up the sport, like what’s happened with cricket in the Windies. There are enough posh schools in England to ensure a solid stream of chinless wonders there.
Surely that should have been a straight/full red rather than a yellow on review - the French hooker should not return
Let me think ….. Headbutt. Off the ball. On a player prone on the ground. After the whistle. If that’s not a full red then what is?
Seriously impressed with this Scottish performance. All square, a man up and Atonio, the French prop who is their key ball carrier knackered. Interesting.
****ing brilliant….balls no try. I’m sure they have, but I can’t remember a French head coach who looks like he played rugby. Shaun Edwards will be very cross with this.
The.pub I'm in has it on, fairly rammed....consensus seems to be they want the French to win, although they all cheered the try before it was disallowed
