I actually get the Fernandes sub to a degree. Dibling and Sulemana are much more “wingers” than Fernandes is and we were getting lots is space wide in the first half. Have Onuachu centrally and the natural wide players wide to cross. Whether Fernandes could’ve played deeper and Aribo for example came off is more the question I think
I absolutely agree, but this should not be read as an endorsement of Martin who absolutely should have been sacked, just SR have the absolute worst recruitment department in the history of English professional football. The players did at least put in an effort for him, which would maybe have scraped a couple of extra points here and there. If the club really want Rohl they need to go ahead and pull the trigger now, **** the cheaping out. If he is really the man for the job next season then they need to proactively go and get him or they will miss out and it will be turd manager roulette once again.
He needs to go now for damage limitation. Unfortunately we won’t be able to get rid of all of this squad so the new manager is going h To have to work with some of them, and they will be completely washed the longer this continues
They'll look to wait until the season is officially over, and our membership has transferred to the EFL, just to try and save a few quid. Even if it works, we'll probably only save about the same as what we wasted on Cornet's wages for four and a half months.
At least he's honest, most managers would be like "until its mathematically possible we keep fighting"
The problem was always leaving it so long to sack Russell as by the time we did it we were already effectively relegated which drastically limited out options.
I think 32 games is currently the record for earliest PL relegation. Jointly held by Derby (07-08), Huddersfield (18-19) and Sheff Utd (20-21). At the very least we should equal that record, but there is a fair possibility that we break it. We can't be relegated after 30 games, because even if we lose to Palace and Wolves beat West Ham, the gap would be 20 points with 24 still available. But after 31 games, it might well be that the gap is 22 or 23 points with only 21 still available. That means to break the record, Wolves will have to beat West Ham and Ipswich, whilst we pick up a maximum of one point against Palace and Spurs. Assuming that we lose to Palace, Spurs and Villa, the only way that we neither beat nor equal the record is if Wolves only pick up a maximum of one point vs West Ham, Ipswich and Spurs.
Yet another Sports Rebuplic master class on who to pick as manager! Hopefully Spors has his own ideas in who to pick. For me, pay Wednesday the money and get Rohl in now.
No point in getting him in now. However, I wouldn't object to paying the compo now and ensuring he's the manager as soon as Arsenal are on way back to London in May.
I would bin Juric now and manage the club with the other coaches just to get the players used to working as a team . No point retaining Juric as the sole ambition is not to be worse than Derby. I just feel the players want Juric out too.
I just still can’t believe we’ve actually managed to find someone even worse than Nathan Jones Absolutely flabbergasting decision making at the club
Don't forget he was supposedly 1st choice over Jones back then as well, and we've been monitoring him for years. Words just can't express the ineptitude of the management of this club since SR took over. I'm out of words to describe it
