Yes hes done well to get us where we are, but Hamilton could start a grand prix with 1/4 fuel in his tank, use the weight advantage to do well initially but gets pulled back when he inevitably has to pit. Whilst yes hes done a good job, the way he and the club have got thus far could negatively impact our run in. Lets face it, performances since leeds havent been great and todays was the worst. There getting beats and then the entire 11 being off it. There not using subs and as said by others recruitment regards Danns, Samed, Aleksic, Poveda, Abdullahi in particular poor. Fees and salaries for those in the middle and minimal to no impact and the lack of impact was expected because we signed 3 of them injured and poveda is a known sick note. If Cirkin is injured weve one fit natural fullback and with poveda offering no threat weve one right winger. theyve shown they can play better we just have to hope key players are fit and firing come may
this whole not ready for promotion stuff is a nonsense, you go up and bag transformational cash and come down with yet more transformational cash and go again. There will never be a perfect time and this is illustrated by upcoming back 2 back seasons of promoted sides coming back down. Signings like Le Fee suggest we could buck that trend, compare a le fee signing for us on promotion to ipswich signing jack clarke, love clarke but not in the same universe.
Poor today, that’s all that needs saying. We are where we deserve to be and have proved we are a solid top 4 side, the points on the board prove that. The clamour to condemn and criticise from some is mental, be the same lot that are booing at the SOL. Constructive criticism is fine but some of the ****e I read on here after a draw or defeat is totally uncalled for. If you keep telling someone they are crap their heads will drop and they won’t perform for you, cheer and encourage and they will run through walls for you. It’s human nature that players will look on social media and message boards, the dopey pricks who keep getting on their backs won’t be happy till they drive them out of the club. Then it will be another stick to beat the club with when they go on to more success with people criticising the club for selling them. Some people have very short memories
This is a message to the tosser, Matty, who I arranged tickets for today. They were the last two available and I had a dozen asking. This person said he'd take them 'no matter what' so were kept for him. This was his message tonight, 'Hello , My lift let me down this morning at the last minute amongst other things outside of my control. Apologies for the lack of communication, I get it looks bad.' This has just been posted on RTG so people know what Matty is. 'A horrible trick to con a fellow Sunderland fan out of money by arranging tickets from someone on here and then not showing up or even having the courtesy of contacting them. A good honourable member from here helped you out and you conned them out of money. So many good posters on here and you do this. Lowest of the low imo. Hopefully this message stops others being conned by this poster.'
Im not saying we shouldn’t want to go up. I completely agree with you that going up is transformational. I meant it’s a year too early for these players in that they’re not quite good enough yet but will be in a year
Agree, it’s only football no need to start getting personal with each other, we’ll be fine, the break will do us good, Enzo is back and we go again
I recall going to Norwich and winning 3.0, I think. A few weeks later we played them at Wembley in the Milk Cup Final and we didn't turn up. My memory is probably playing tricks but the principle stands. Funny game football
4 years ago we played in the papa johns trophy in an empty Wembley stadium, we are now 4th in arguably the best league in England, with a solid chance of play offs, with the best squad we’ve had in years players that want to be here and not see us a pay check. we’ve come along way. We are in right hands and heading in the right direction. some may see this as being happy with mediocre and so be it. Rather have this than losing to Lincoln in the L1 play off semi final or losing to Burton Albion. Yes today wasn’t great, we can all see that. Yes we can be better, and players can do better, at the end of the day we sit 4th. 10 points clear of 5th with 8 games left of the season. Enjoy your evening gents
Trouble is, if we don't go up we might not have many of them next year. I get we don't need to sell, but if they want to go, they want to go. In our comms when a player does leave, there's always a message of not standing in their way.
yeh I’m not saying we shouldn’t want to go up. Purely saying most of them could do with another season in the championship. Id snap your hands off for promotion
