Me too Hornsey Rd, my eldest son lives opposite the Emirates on Benwell Rd . Arsenal are my second team
Same here DD. they score 7 without a striker and without Saka. They are so good to watch, but without that dedicated striker will come up short on too many occasions.
When Saka and Martinelli are fit along with Nwanari, Oedegaard and others, who makes way for the specialist striker?
But they already have Havertz, Trossard, Jesus etc for that plus, I am told by my Son who is a season ticket holder, the new wonderkid Dowman will be be in the squad next year. On top of that who could they sign to improve performances. I don't think that the likes of Watkins would and players who would improve them, such as Isak, would make it difficult to stay within financial rules.
Coventry cruising at half time, 2-0 up, but Stoke score 2 in 2nd half to level. Mark Robins must be loving this
Binmen not out of the woods yet. Lost in the Forest in fact. 0-3,down and nine points adriift of 17th ATM.
Gabby Sara stayed the calmest man on the pitch as Galatasary beat rivals Fenerbahce 2:1 in the latest Battle of Istanbul tonight. Galatasary had two sent off, including double goal scorer Osimhen, while Fenerbahce were down to ten. Add a pitch invasion and several red cards for touchline staff (though neither of the managers, one of whom was J. Mourinho) and it was amazing the game finished at all. It could so easily have gone into extra time too, but for a superb, balletic goal-line clearance in the dying minutes. Not a great advert for Turkish football; I wonder what Gabby made of it.
So farewell then Ipswich Town, You came up like a rocket, But like a lead balloon you went back down, E.J.Thribb age 17 1/2.
No longer, now 2-2 and Wolves are two up against Spuds. Edit, Chelsea have had 30 shots at goal with 73% possession. Edit the edit. Finished 34 shots and 73.5% possession.
Just a quick note on Coventry (Frank Lampard’s Coventry City) - I have to admit they’ve not really been on my radar. And I also can’t deny I was one of the ones who would have merrily sneered at the idea of appointing Fat Frank after his record in the Championship. But fair play to them both - he was appointed when they were ?17th in the league, taking over from a hero of a manager for them. Their form has since been pretty extraordinary. Not perfect, but they are (if they can hold their lead) 5th in the Championship now and five points clear of seventh place. He’s managed 1.8+ points per game, a rate we could only dream of (not enough to change their position in the league more than a place or so, given how strong the top four have been, but still). They’ve invested well and their squad is by no means weak, but on paper it is not as strong/valuable as ours. But a much more cohesive team it seems - and able to bounce back from defeats much better.
Coventry have done well but as one of the bigger Clubs in this league so they should. Many Clubs have a one off good season. Last year Hull and Preston had a better chance than us at getting 6th spot but just failed. Where are they this year?
I am not so sure - Coventry were in League 2 not so long ago. I appreciate they were once a Premier League club, but their circumstances changed
