Honestly, is there a competition with that lot on who can be the most stupid, idiotic and embarrassing? Surely mags with sense must get embarrassed and pissed off with morons like this?

It really seems like they find new lows of stupidity. Just when you think they've reached rock bottom, they find a new level to mine.

Total Sport Craig Hope Daily Mail is breaking the news of a 65k stadium to be built on Leazes Park, with SJP to be used until ready.

I hope this is not approved. Leazes Park is a vital inner city green space used by residents, University students and staff as well as Hospital staff and patients. It hosts many social events and is "protected" by the Local Plan drawn up by Local Councils including Newcastle City Council.
I shall be applying to join The Friends of Leazes Park, a charitable body that was involved in the succesful fight against plans by NUFC (then under the control of John Hall)when it previously tried to build on Leazes Park. I understand membership costs £5.

This has been turned down before despite enormous pressure from the likes of John Hall as you say. This looks like a similar tactic and no more likely to succeed than before. Whatever the case there would be three or four years of consultations, enquiries, etc before anything was done.

    2030 is impossible and that’s a fact.

If permission is refused it gives the Saudis the perfect reason to sell up.

"On the morning of Monday 7th October 2024, the Freemen of Newcastle held a Guild meeting at the Guild Hall on Newcastle Quayside. Amongst other ceremonies, new 'Freemen' were sworn in and other matters were discussed. There were around 30 or so present. During this meeting a question was presented to the chairman asking what he knew of the rumours and speculation of St James' Park and if there had been any approach, or conversation with NUFC regarding a new stadium on Leazes Park. The answer to these enquiries categorically established that there had been no discussions with NUFC regarding any stadium matters whatsoever."

I'm surprised one hasn't appeared already with a tattoo of 2025 league cup champions yet

Look North is absolutely hilarious tonight, schools asking kids to dance around in Toon shirts, Eddie Howe talking about ending 70 years of hurt and Bruno saying how he's been inspired by Rob Lee ...

... Rob Lee, a Cockney who won nothing with Newcastle but was inducted into the ‘Newcastle United Hall of Fame’ for being ordinary <laugh>

I expect he's also, officially, an adopted Geordie like anyone who wasn’t shyte or left for a bigger club.

I need some Liverpool puns for work on Monday (all being well).
All I've got at the minute is re-naming the "salad bar" the "Salah bar"
Any other food based piss take ideas?

P.S. I work in newcastle, and seems there's a lot more mag fans this week for some reason.
Luckily, my line manager is an safc season ticket holder, so she would see the funny side.
