Puerta - travesty that he got sent off. Clear foul and penalty but presumably can’t appeal a second yellow. The referee should hang his head in shame though Gelhardt - what a player Coyle For much of the game we looked utterly flat, so I think we were slightly fortunate to get the win - especially given that cracking shot of theirs which hit the bar. Still, an excellent turn round so well done to all the players.
Gelhardt - head and shoulders our best player, always looked like he would be the one to drag us through. Puerta - another workmanlike performance, great effort for the goal and on the end of one of the worst reffing decisions I seen in many a year. Struggling for a third but will go Coyle just for his tenacity. It wasn't good by any means, but the result far outweighs the performance tonight especially given the results of the others in and around us.
Gelhardt - Easily the best player on the pitch. Quality first touch, ability to ghost past players and has a knack of being in the right place at the right time. Kamara - never wasteful. Defenders just can’t jump in on him as he has such close control. Deceivingly quick and I thought he defended well too. Hughes - just a colossus in the air, carries such a presence and with Oxford having nothing but a lump it forward approach, he was vital in securing us the 3 points.
Typical City , we made hard work of it . 1. Gelhardt - worked hard , was a pest , scored a nice goal but it could have been 3 . 2. Puerta - robust and creative , a goal from nothing . An idiot referee spoilt his night . Looked a penalty to me . 3. Kamara - tracks back better now . Always got the better of their fullback to send in some inviting passes . Well done boys Come on City
Geldhardt Mclaughlin Coyle. We didn't quite get hold of the midfield but fantastic to get the back to back home wins. Yellow Yellow was a pathetic chant, f**k off back to your sh*thole Oxford.
Puerta Geldhardt Hughes Much needed win but we made hard work of attacking for 70 minutes, I know we are light up front but not sure Selles got the starting forwards right. Crooks is not a centre forward and Joseph is not a winger. Great finish from Geldhardt and a bit of magic from Puerta won the game. Referees in championship are getting worse, terrible decision again on a sending off.
