    17:2ö Cheltenham - Kalypso'chance

    Grade-1. Class-1, Champion Bumper on good-to-soft ground.

Very smart gelding and probably the best of trainer's two runners in the race. Jack Kennedy rides for the Gordon Elliott stable.

11/2 (Ladbrokes/Coral/BetVictor) best price on the ATR site, at time of writing.

Great race. A very good little un can beat a very good big un over hurdles. Final Demand was Demanesque.

I wonder if anyone will ask Barry Connell why he took the Marine National ride off Mikey O’Sullivan? That whole part of the story is just brushed under the carpet. I doubt Mikey would have been on board today had he still been alive.

He was retained rider and he wanted more rides basically. O'Connell expected him to go and ride one horse with little chance, say in Leopardstown when Michael could have 4 or 5 available to him in Limerick on the same day with winning chances. That is the crux of it and it just came to an end after he made it clear he would appreciate being allowed to go for the larger book rather than the one.
