I didn't because I explained why I said what I said. The equivalent of "Yep I got it wrong, I guess I thought XYZ but that didn't happen."
It's suddenly getting very tight down the bottom again. What says you now, those posters who are saying that we're already safe?
i say, we win tommorow and its all jolly id be very worried if i was a cardiff fan though ask the question after our game tommorow
I say this is exactly the same we've seen countless times when relegation rivals play each other. By nature someone has to pick up points so everyone panics that teams are picking up points. Win tomorrow and we're safe, I stand by it.
We just have to win games against the likes of Oxford at home. That’s it. Luton and Derby winning doesn’t change that.
Due to Sainsbury's policy of moving every ****ing item in the shop to a new location and one which makes absolutely no logical ****ing sense to boot, then the answer is yes. Yes I am. I don't know if I'm coming or going.
Husband walks in to his home and says to his Wife, "I've been so busy I don't know whether I'm coming or going!!" The Wife Replies, "By the look on your face you're going. Because when you're coming you look like a ****ing stroke victim trying to whistle!"
Anyone who thinks we are safe on 37 or even 40 points is delusional. 50 points minimum needs to be our aim
No one's saying we're safe on that points total if we pick up 0 points from the remaining games though.. Put it this way, do you think Swansea are safe? If they pick 0 points up from here on out they're definitely not safe, but of course they'll pick up points.
Honestly don't know how many points they have. My point is that we've only just got our points total ahead of our games played total. Even if we win tomorrow there is no guarantee we stay up, especially with our habit of losing to so called "crap" teams at home and we still have Luton and Derby to come at the MKM
Ditto, I very rarely predict the result, but I fancy a 4-1 City win. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
We don't need to aim for 50 points (or any points total in my eyes) - we just need to keep our form consistent with that of the bottom 3. Basically - keep going as we are and we'll stay up - each game at a time. Anything else I think creates unnecessary pressure and leads to the current trends we are seeing amongst the supporters where a win sees us safe but a loss definitely means we'll be relegated. We just need to keep our heads - Selles and the squad are currently getting it right.
Realistically we are going to be safe. Our direction of travel since Selles was appointed is very clear and consistent. We've been picking up regular enough wins, (although never back-to-back) and that would have to change for us to go down now. We have a comfortably mid table squad and our form is comfortably mid table over quite a period of time now. I don't think it's very likely that we go on a bad enough run to get sucked back in again.
Derby were due a win eventually, as even poor teams win games. However, it’s worth remembering that this is the first time they’ve won back to back games since September. If they keep picking up points at this rate, they’ll end up with about 45 points. Unless they turn these results into a proper pattern, there’s no need to panic. Luton have taken seven points from five games. That’s their best run of form all season. If they manage to keep that up, they’ll end up with around 46 points. However, it’s worth bearing in mind that this is only their second win in 15 games. If we win tomorrow the gap is fully restored, but with one fewer game and the added bonus that the Luton result pulled Cardiff right into it just before they have a really tough run of games against teams hoping to stay in the race for the top six. You also have to consider our general level of results since Sellés took over, which has seen us consistently achieve 1.2 points a game (currently 1.29). I’m confident this will continue, and if not we probably deserve to go down, quite frankly. As a result of our points per game under Sellés, we’re on track to finish with 49 points. Based on this, all of the teams below us will probably need 50 points to jump above us by the time the season ends. To reach 50 points, Derby (who have the most points of the teams in the bottom three) must achieve at least one of the following in their 9 remaining games: 5 or more wins 4 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses 3 wins, 6 draws, 0 losses If Derby lose just a single game before the end of the season, they’ll need at least 4 wins from 9 to have a chance of bettering our projected points tally. They’ve only won 9 all season. To reach our projected points total, and make the survival threshold for other teams effectively 50 points, all we need is 12 points from the last 10 games. This would require one of the following: 4 or more wins 3 wins, 4 draws, 4 losses 2 wins, 7 draws, 1 loss As long as we don’t royally mess it up, we have a fair bit of room for error before we have to panic.
