That was one terrible 45 minutes of ‘football’ There’s a programme on Channel 5 called ‘Watching Paint Dry’. I’m tempted to turn over.
As shocking as it gets. I think both these sides go down. Colwill by a distance our best player and Alves when we get him on the ball. Other than that we don't look like we've ever played together before.
It's a different midfield 3 and defence again. This doesn't help. Bagan should never have been axed. Chambers FFS!!! Robertson is having a mare and Ramsey poor as well.
Echo all the above. That was a woeful first half. Colwill has made the wrong choice 9 times out of 10. Ng looks miles off it. The centre backs look ponderous and shaky. The whole team can't pass a bloody simple ball... Poor old Salech is feeding off scraps None of the outfield players can really claim any credit after that showing. Omer has to put a rocket up their arses now.
Lucky strike from Chambers but right place, right time and had a go... Gutting for Rambo yet again. Time to accept his body just can't do it consistently any more. FFS... and they go and score a worldy just as I write this.... Bollox
Well, that could just be the result that knocks the stuffing out of us enough to take us down. I wouldn't say we deserved to lose it as their goals came from a worldy and a fortune piece of shocking defending that put the goal on a plate, but it really was a dreadful performance apart from the first 5 minutes when we tried to go at them from the off. I just can't see what the answer is now as so many players had yet another off night. Glass nowhere near half full after that....
I have to disagree Hilts. Overall we had more shots (same number on target) More possession Made more passes including more accurate passes... Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we were unfortunate or unlucky or anything and we absolutely didn't deserve to win, but Luton weren't any better than us apart from being presented with a winning opportunity by us that they took...
As per usual City were slow out of the blocks and allowed Luton to play. Luton were below us in the table largely due to their away form. Championship managers easily have picked them apart by their teams playing through and around them and not conceding free kicks. Ok they scored a worldy and Chambers nearly did, but even if we had drawn it’d have been fortunate. Riza has to shoulder a lot of the blame for being unable to pick the most appropriate team and not coaching them how to beat their opponents. Last season we stayed up due to our ability to snatch away wins as our home form was poor. City have a solitary away win this campaign and our home form is below par. I‘’be said it before but if we do miraculously stay up it’ll be despite Riza. However I’d sack Riza tonight. Ring up anyone half decent & get them in for Saturday and then have a fortnight to work out how rescue the season.
And a new owner and board by Thursday please. I thought a draw would have been about right BUT that doesn't alter the fact that we should be beating teams like Luton. Poor across the board on and off the pitch.
No one can say they played well. Some of them are stealing a wage. Can't pass, can't tackle, can't mark. Gifted their 2 goals with poor clearances. McGuiness had Salach in his pocket from the first minute. Probably the first time he has played a good, big centre back who takes no crap. For me Ramsey was poor from the start. As usual Colwill ran a lot, mostly down blind alleys. Still no end product. Neither Alves nor Robertson looked fully fit so it was a risk to start with them. The only bright spot for me was Isaak when he came on. He gave their defenders a lot more to consider with his pace. A dreadful night and Division 1 beckons.
