I guess it’s my turn for a 1 week only match thread run this week. So up next we welcome Wolves to ST Marys for a 15:00 KO. Hopefully Ivan plays players in their preferred positions again this week( who would have thought of trying that), but who knows. And if we want to get past Derby’s 11 points record, this has to be seen as somewhat of a chance, but I feel a draw is the most likely outcome.
C/O @SAINTOSPREY Saturday 15th March 2025 Southampton v Wolverhampton Wanderers 15:00 ko Referee: Robert Jones. Assistants: Ian Hussin, Neil Davies. Fourth official: Gavin Ward. VAR: Michael Oliver. Assistant VAR: Craig Taylor.
Have to feel for all the posters putting themselves up to be shot down. It's like those soldiers who were essentially sent out of the trenches to their death during the battle of the Somme. Ivan Juric is basically the Croatian Douglas Haig.
With Cunha out, we have chance ….. but @saintrichie123 still has to navigate the Juric 13.45 tombola & tactical “wtf”. He might sneak another game but I definitely won’t be betting on it.
Correct, 3-1 my prediction which, one day will come about and there will be great rejoicing in the house of StJabbo, beer, wine and strong spirits will be consumed laying the foundations of a monumental hangover.
No we won’t. We are doomed to be the worst PL team ever. If we played the first team and five subs we might get a 0-0 draw.
Sutton's prediction: 0 - 1 Southampton surprised me last week against Liverpool - they lost but they played well and they showed they have got a goal in them, and a bit of fight. So, this is not a gimme for Wolves, but even with Matheus Cunha suspended, they will see this game as an opportunity to put more space between them and the bottom three. Vitor Pereira's side are already six points clear of Ipswich and Leicester and, if they can win at St Mary's and those two teams both lose this weekend, you would start to think that the bottom three is done and dusted. Divorce singer and guitarist Felix Mackenzie-Barrow, who is an Arsenal fan, prediction: 1 - 1 I watched the highlights of Southampton's defeat at Liverpool and they just seemed too messy to get a result. Wolves have been pretty poor as well and I kind of think this will be a draw because they will both make mistakes, not because either side are particularly great up front.
