Marescas' football is the best sleeping cure on earth. Why anyone would pay to watch Chelsea live ( if they actually are alive), is beyond me. Personally I think all bar Cucurella are really zombies, or possibly Robotrons, programmed to walk, not run, to play sidewards or backwards but not forwards, and to keep doing the same thing for 90 minutes. They play as if holding the ball is the aim of the game, not putting the ball in the net.
Maresca in his Post match interview actually said " if Fernandez passes forward, he's off, if the Goalie kicks long instead of playing out, he's off ", so the back 4 play sideways and backwards and we go nowhere for 5 mins. Wow, now that's really visionary tactics. Maresca then said that's how it is, the fans need get used to it, that's now our style.
Well as a supporter of Chelsea for 56 years, I don't want to get used to it, so bollocks to Maresca and I'm off !!. Maresca has destroyed the Team, misuses the strengths of most of the players, and for me, has ruined the joy of watching Chelsea. He is 2 years behind how to play modern football and completely the wrong bloke to manage Chelsea. He is simply out of touch with the reality of PL standards.
Wake me up when he's gone. Until then, I'll stop watching our matches live here on TV at 2 o'clock in the morning, and just watch the highlights on replay. Life's too short to drink bad wine, or to waste good sleep time watching a Maresca managed Team walk backwards for 90 minutes.

I saw something the other day that was interesting. It was discussing how possession based football is being replaced with pace based football, meaning teams are happy to not have the ball for long periods of time but are super high energy and forward moving when they do.
There’s a shift in global tactics again and I fear that Maresca is still part of the old possession based group.

Guardiola who probably perfected Possession football , is on record as saying football has moved on and he was too slow to realise and change. Now he faces a rebuild of City with players suited to the faster game. Chelsea have a team full of players suited to the faster game but a Manager trying to make them play possession football !!
And who was Guardiolas' assistant ?? Mr Maresca . As with most things Football, Chelsea owners have the wrong man in charge, along with the wrong age policy, the wrong transfer policy and the wrong Directors of Football. We are out of step , out of excuses and right out of Trophy winning Football.

I know what you mean. I was having more fun when we were under Lampard and sitting in midtable.
We are very boring to watch, so are Arsenal, who play in a similar way but just have better players.

Copenhagen result just a small uptick. We won, and that's just what we need. First half was another dull performance with some energy from Archeampong keeping fans awake. The introduction od Palmer and Fernandez shifted us up a gear and we were then at least in the game. Dewsbury Hall scored a determined goal but we couldn't break down Copenhagens solid defence. Lots of oohs and aahs moments but no goals. Tyrique george was very lively and looks certain to replace Sancho long term, No surprises here under Maresca. He's wrecked all the excitement and drive .
If Maresca wants more noise from the fans, he needs to give them something to shout about ,not the dirge he serves up.I reckon half the fans at the Bridge are tourists who have overpaid for "Boehly Tickets" and don't know how to get involved anyway.
