I think his penalty taking right now reflects his form and confidence....what an unbelievable season from Mo,with more to come.
Salah has been much better on penalties this year. I no longer slap my head when he's given the call to take them.
I think he used to run up and smash it and hope power would beat any keeper. Hes actually seems to be placing them a bit more now. Still the odd power but maybe taking 10% off the power to increase the accuracy. I have no proof of this either, but it seems to me that players also use the middle of the goal a lot more in the last 4/5 years. That opens up a whole new 3rd of the goal where have to be a lot less accurate and you still rarely see keepers stand still. I think that has helped as Mo has also gone centrally up high a few times where takes some power off
Yes, he only.missed the one v real by kicking the ground first. He likes to see the net rattle so would never do what son did today. Most keepers are guessers and just dive.before the ball is stuck so anything high enough to stop a dangling leg stop it and the middle of the goal is quite OK. Salah is htting both sides with pace right now and stroking them in That pen in the cl final was an oh God please don't miss moment. Now I think you'd be very confident he's not going to miss. I wonder if there's some statistics over time thet would show his increasing success rate.
Is it me or are the media piling in on Nunez’s tackle and making it a bigger deal than it actually was - it was a yellow, nothing more and everyone agrees and yet here we are with articles everywhere and ex referees reviewing it over and over again……for a yellow ffs. I can’t recall this much analysis when Pickford crippled VvD!
Remember when Kane stamped on Robbo and didn't get a card of any colour? The media were outrag...... oh wait a minute.
Just watching the highlights; definitely a yellow card offence for Nunez. If he'd made contact with the Saints players then there would be an argument for red. But he didn't, so yellow.
I can see what the issue is TBF, he just kicks out at the player with no interest in the ball. Fortunately, it's Nunez so he missed
I mean, it could have been red, but it wasn't. Pickford's was a red all the way, nothing subjective about it. Nunez the tackle itself was not a red card tackle- what would make it red is the petulance and intent was assault for sake of assault (rather than a bad tackle). It was yellow, that's a fair call (I think red would have been fair too based on subjective reading by the ref)... It's not worth getting caught up in. There have been far worse tackles that got yellow or less.
They went with it during the headlines too, as if we were very fortunate Everyone’s hurting is all, laugh it off
