It should be rotated for tests with the established countries, and sling in a one day test with 3 one day games against the minnows.
Very disappointing that the BBC has scrapped the prestigious role of Cricket Correspondent. Jonathan Agnew stepped down last Summer, having followed in some extremely illustrious footsteps. My utter contempt for the BBC knows no bounds anyway, but I don’t see how even its few remaining supporters can defend this decision. A sad day.
ICC Trophy final today. Come on Nee Zealand. The venal, money mad Indians need a hammering. They have ruined this tournament (again).
An interesting report on the BBC Sport website; https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/articles/cly2l3j6ev2o New Zealand apparently covered 7,000 kilometers travelling to matches, while India never went further than the distance from their hotel to the Cricket ground they were using in Dubai. This was thought an acceptable compromise by the ICC, largely because Indian markets account for up to 80% of ICC income. Naturally, who pays the piper calls the tune.
Great post @lardiman This is the crux of the issue. The BCCI has got world cricket by the balls, mainly due to the money involved in franchise cricket (IPL). They are rigging everything to suit them, including DRS & now venues for major tournaments.
Yes. I think the UK is more likely to win Eurovision than Pakistan getting another Cricket tournament this Century.
