don‘t disagree but if Rodon had got out of first gear running back he might not have had a decision to make.
****. They just wanted it more today than we did today and their goalkeeper played a blinder. Very disappointing. And, taken with the WBA result, it raises the troubling question as to whether this is the start of the end of season meltdown that we are masters at, and the misery of the play offs.
fair play to Pompy they suffocated us all game right till the end. very physical but mostly fair. there outlet to the corners were chased to the line something we didn't want to do because they wanted the ball. numerous times they chased lost causes to win a ball in which we gave up on. hussled us all game no room for any player to turn well done. We didn't want that fight today and rightly lost it.
Hopefully that's the kick up the arse we need. We've been poor for 4 or 5 games now. The late goals against Sunderland and Sheff Utd papered over the cracks.
Proper club, proper atmosphere, proper fans, proper performance, no complaints from me, they deserved that and not because we choked, simply they really performed better than us. We could still have won it with a good Joel day but When I posted about Coventry yesterday it was exactly because of this. If results were guaranteed just because of league position they could just give us the golden ticket or poisoned chalice right now, it doesn’t work that way and I, for one, hope Lampard wins manager of the month for March (I’ll reassess in April when I see how we go). We’re still top and, in a sense, still have a game in hand in one of the teams behind us with the Burnley v Sheffield United fixture coming up (worst case they both get a point). Just listening to their manager, class. Sometimes it’s harder to be gracious in victory, fair play and Warnock has just come out with a belter “ I bet you wish you could have that performance and referee every week” Good luck Portsmouth you ****ing bastards
