Aye. Soft as ****e, but by the rules a foul. Facts are, Patta gets pulled to bits but folk forget as a shot stopper he is often superb. Yeah, we could have better, but we could have a hell of a lot worse. He’s about par for where we are as a club and that’s all good.
I also think that keepers are a well protected species. However, in this case the question must be asked, what the hell is the forwards hand doing that high. He certainly can't score with his hand so for me the referee had an easy decision to make yet he didn't. Fortunately it didn't matter. I hope that Patto is trying hard to deal with these situations. We may need to start feeding him raw steak and get him in the boxing ring.
Very good first 25 mins then seemed to lose our way a little. Losing Roberts was a blow and we seemed to lose our pattern of play from then. I would rather see Rigg in the centre of midfield than on the right seems a little wasted out wide. I thought it was a foul on patto straight away and nothing since has changed my mind. Well worked free kick for the winner good to see something different. 3 points we move on to Tuesday. Mayenda is going to be some player good to see mundle getting his game back. Few minutes for Tommy also. A great save from patto at 1 1 also. A better atmosphere yesterday i thought also.
Watched Coventry today nowt special they’ve got us Burnley and sheff utd in there next 4 games let’s see where they are after that
It’s the first time I’ve questioned Le Bris’s decisions, just didn’t look right, and like last season when we did the same for a few games it’s doing the lad a disservice,in fact Riggs was mentioning the fact recently about struggling playing out of position
Tough game midweek and tough games for Burnley and Sheffield United. Could be all over or right back on the hob.
I don't think many of us on here realistically think we are going to get in to the top 2. However it's a possibility. 3 games to go Burnley play Sheff Utd, could very well end in a draw so that's both teams dropping 2 points. I think any chance of top 2 we basically have to win every game. Yesterday wasn't the greatest and neither was the Sheff Wed game but we won. We ground out results and held on. Yesterday I thought we actually looked comfortable seeing the game out at 2-1 we kept the ball well and kept playing forward. We didn't sit back and wait for the onslaught. That to me shows we are learning as a team, these games we were throwing away a few weeks ago. Let's just keep taking one game at a time and celebrate it if we keep winning. Some people want to pull performances apart week after week, certain posters should be managing PL sides with there wealth of Knowledge. I've never seen such a negative response to us winning, but I suppose if we're not losing they have to moan about something. At this moment in time I couldn't give a **** how we win as long as we win, yes I moan during the game when we make silly mistakes . But fighting back and seeing out a game, I wouldn't ask for anything more
Its an obvious foul, usually if anyone farts near a keeper a free kick is given, but not for us, **** reffing
Sorry if its already been discussed but why did the ref give them a drop ball in the box during 2nd half? Surely it had to be a penna, free kick or corner. Has there been any explanation given. I didnt see any of the teams appealing for anything.
We have seen Mayenda out wide and he has been poor tbh. He is a genuine 9. Let him and Isidor battle it out for the shirt, instead if trying to squeeze players in. Mayenda has the striker shirt right now and is shining bright. Dont mess with the good stuff.
Looked at the Patto incident many times the C.F. Leads with his right arm taking out both the keepers arms as he's stretching for the ball, the forward has twisted in the air and isn't even looking at the ball when he hits Patto so he isn't trying an attempt to head the ball at all, clear interference with the keeper and it doesn't matter if Patto was catching the ball or not, really poor decision by the Ref. Only those with a bias against Patto can defend that decision.
https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...=a73edde4dcb3d8fcf40d517c2718393e&date=090325 ... Sunderland's keeper felt he was fouled by Yousef Salech as he went up to claim the cross but the protests were dismissed by referee Darren Bond, and Le Bris was honest in his assessment. He said: "I don't know, it's difficult to judge. "The culture in England is different. In France I think the referee would whistle. It wasn't the case here and we were not surprised. For me, what we can control is the way Patto manages the situation and he will have to learn from this experience." Le Bris said: "It was an important win today. I thought we started well and probably in the first 20 minutes we were very good with a good rhythm and a good pace. "We then didn’t manage the period after that properly but it was a good win in the end. "We have to balance picking up points with improving performances because we still have 10 games to go. "It’s a question of levels - if we don’t raise our level, it will be tough until the end. To get more points, we need to improve. "It was good from the first minute today, which shows we can do it - now it’s about consistency
Jobe for me I think we are good away from home, so wouldn't overly worry me a we'd likely be away first. Having said that, Coventry do worry me
Watched Coventry play Stoke yesterday who got a lot out of playing wide attacking the fullbacks, think Mundle & Roberts if fit for the weekend might just surprise them. Also think their good run of form will peter out before the playoffs, too many games to maintain that form without a dip.
This is the same ref that a couple of seasons ago turned up at the SOL with a ****ing Alice band in his hair, so I wouldn't expect anything less from the little tosser
